3 car seats, but small car

We currently have 2 boys ages, 5yrs and 3yrs. We are expecting our 3rd, and my problem is that we have a small car (a chevy cobalt) and I'm wondering how I'm going to fit 3 carseats in this car. Our oldest can use a booster seat, but our 3yr old still needs to be in his convertiable seat (he's still small, he only weighs about 30-35lbs). So if anyone has any suggestions it would be great.

You need a bigger car!

Sarah- We have a 3 yr old, 2 yr old and a 3 mth old and we have a Toyota Camry. All three of the car seats fit in the back. I was sure it wasn't going to work and we have to get a SUV or mini van but my husband tried it and sure enough they all fit. Give it a try and you might just be nicely surprised...I was :)

I drive a Mazda 3 and I got 2 infant seats and a booster seat in it when they were younger and now I have 2 convertible seats in it and use the booster seat. It is a tight fit but it works

I would recommend the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 they are very thin but are convertibles that allow your kids to be rearfacing til 35 pounds and forward facing harnessed until 80 pounds. These seats are just as good as the Britax seats without the bulk. I believe there is actually a picture on there website showing 3 seats together.

Im having the same problem here soon when my twins are born because my daughter is still in a carseat and after trying really hard to squish the carseats in we had to get a bigger car because it just didnt work. I would suggest trying to see if they fit but you may have to find something bigger

Try it before the baby comes. Sometimes I have to cram three carseats into my Dad's volkswagon (don't know what kind) but it's a significantly smaller back seat than my Chevy Impala. We can just fit all three- although it helps if I remember to have my son's booster seat instead of the car seat.

If you can't fasten all three in at the same time, Sorry to say it, but you'll be needing a bigger car.

The best advice that I can give you would be to trade the car in and get a small SUV. The Ford Escape is really awesome on gas. I used to drive one, but since I only have one carseat, I decided that I wanted a smaller car. The Ford Escape is very reasonably priced and they really are awesome on gas. The kids would have more room because the backseat is bigger than a car's, and it would still be something on the small side in case you don't feel comfortable driving a bigger vehicle.
