My 5 month old daughter is having frequent bowel movements (sometimes watery), mostly after a feed and is running a temperature of 101 for the last 5 days. The fever comes down when i give her a paracetemol and shoots up again after 6 -7 hours. The doc has prescribed Darolac for 5 days. I have already given it for 4 days but don't see a difference. could this be a teething symptom? Will Fevers last for so long during teething ?

Louise's advice is very good. I dont know what Darolac is so I cant comment on that. Once antibiotics are being taken, the temperature will come back to normal within 24-48 hours. If the fever persists you need to go back to the doctor. Continue the paracetamol to keep on top of the fever.

A temperature that goes up and down is a sign of infection, normally at this age an ear infection. Take her back to the doctors and demand to be seen. This needs further investigation and by the sounds of it antibiotics.
