I am about 5 weeks along, and yesterday morning I had a few small gushes of blood. Spent time in the ER. Ultrasound showed a properly implanted spot, but they said it was too early and they could not see the yolk sac. I have to go back tomorrow to see if my levels have doubled. Have any of you had this problem? I had spotting with baby #1 and this one, but the small gush of blood was way different.

I had a couple of bleeding incident for my first pregnancy but they turned out fine (until he was born stillborn :( ). Also known a friend who had bleeding thorough the pregnancy, and then ended up having preterm baby.

My natural path doctor (Chinese herbs an accupunture doctor) herself also had bleeding during her own pregnancy and she prescribed herself chinese medicine and it stopped. (I have been seeing her for my current pregancny seeing there is limited help from typical medical doctor for my other complications). According to her, when you have bleeding it is a sign there is some imbalance in your body, which does not mean the pregnancy cannot go on, but you body is not at the condition it should be for carrying baby, which kind of makes sense to me. I am yet to tell if it is helping me at this point, but I think when there is no other explanation or help from traditional medicine, it might be good idea to check out help like this. Hope this helps.

I dont Know if really I can help but when I was at about 28 weeks i think it was I started bleeding i went to the labour ward and the lady did a pee test everything. But everything seem to be fine she just told me to keep up with drinking heaps of water and eating healthy. But as most women here have said some women go right through there pregnancy with there periods even. So hope everything is going fine keep up with ur fluids and eating healthy. wish u all the best

I had this about 5 weeks into my pregnancy & I bled on & off bright red blood for 8 days with no clotts or cramps. It was very stressful. I had never bled before during pregnancy.

Long story short I am now 11 weeks pregnant & the baby has a good heart beat. Are you having the gush of blood when you go from laying to sitting, or from sitting to standing? Because if that is the case it is just blood that has pooled at the back of your cervix. Bleeding happens for unknown reasons during pregnancy & a lot of those pregnancys go full term.

Good Luck.

Have your doctors keep an eye out for Placenta Previa ( placenta pulling away from the uterine wall) this cause severe bleeding, it led me to being bed ridden in the hospital for 7 weeks before having my daughter by an emergency c section because the placenta covered my cervix and pulled away so quickly it was drowning the baby in blood. Just something to keep an eye on, it might be that it may not be but that was my experience. hope this helps :)

Keep an open mind. Many women have bleeding during pregnancy and go onto have normal pregnancies. At about 6 weeks they should be able to see a heartbeat. Don't panic just yet wait and see what they say. I have been in your situation 4 times so I know how you are feeling. It will be the longest night of your life. I have my fingers crossed for you. xx

I had bleeding with my last baby at about 16 weeks. It happened about three different times in two weeks. It was heavy like a period. I went to the er each time and all was fine. after the third time my ob doctor came into the hospital because she wanted to see right away and she found that I had bacteria on my cervix and had to take antibiotics.
