6 month old on 12 hour car ride?

Yes when my daughter was born she was three days old and we travled from Txeas to Kentucky an 18 hour drive and then when sshe was two weeks we went to Flordia all you really need to do is stop just like you normally would and rest a little longer you know how you feel after so long in your seat well they feel the same way and offer her food just as you would on any given day

The trip should go well we took my son on a 9hr car ride when he was 1 month old then we took him on a 6hr bus ride when he was 7months old and like of of the mother's said he slept the majority of the time. Until he was hungry he woke up and went right back to sleep once he was full.

your not insane to try you just need to make more rest stops then you would usualy

i take my girls on 4 hour car rides an my first when she was 2 weeks she went on a 6 hour road trip....just make sure you have a few of her fav toys an snacks (potable dvd players are heaven sent lol ) hope i kinda helped an hope yall have a good vaca!

Also remember to stop freqently to let her out of the carseat to stretch her legs and move around.. Blood Clots are able to happen even at that age.

Wow Emily, you are brave. I love road trips, but they ceased once I had my daughter. I lived in Virginia and it was a 12 hour drive to my family in Florida. I've only attempted an 8 hour drive to GA with her and it went ok. We left at like 2am, so she was asleep most of the drive. The most tiring part for her was remaining seated in the car seat. However, I'm a single mom; so with 3 adults in on this adventure, you might be safe. Go for it...you won't know unless you try! Safe Travels...

we're going on holiday 2 days after my son's 1st bday and r driving for 5hours. i think this is gonna be quite hard for him. we're going to be stopping every hour if he is awake, cos i know he's gonna get distressed from time to time.

i think this is gonna be hard work for all of us, so very good luck with ur trip x

We took a 11 hr car trip when my daughter was 3 months, and again when my daughter was 2yrs and my son was about 9 months. Both trips were fine! They slept a lot of the way and I just made sure to have plenty of bottles ready to feed whenever necessary. Both trips went amazingly well! Good luck to you!
