Wow, I am going through the same thing.

In Septermber, my period came a week late, then I told myself if it was late again I would take a pregnancy test, so I did around October I took a pregnancy test and it turned positive after around 10 minutes. I thought it might have been a false positive, so I told my self I would retest in a few days, but I never did because my period started the next day. So in december I go home to my mom's and she's like you have that pregnancy glow. I tell her, I'm not pregnant, because I am still having my period. She asks me to raise up my shirt and I had a belly, which I thought I was just getting fat. So, about 2 weeks later in December I started feelling the butterflies in my stomach, then I started feeling all theses kicks. MY boobs are huge, my bra size went from a 38 to a 46. I was 240 pounds wearing a 38 and now I am down to 217 wearing a 46. My heart rate is 110. My blood pressure is always 120 over 80 and now it may be 100/77 or even 146/100. I started reading the symtoms of pregnancy and I noticed I had been having them since around September. I even have a linea negra on my stomach. My hair is growing thicker than ever and all over my belly. Went to the hospital had bloodwork, it came back negative and they did an ultrasound and told me their was no baby. I noticed they were not able to see anything, because my uterous was position high and also behind my stomach. Well, the kicks kept coming and they started to get harder. Next thing I know, I am having painless contractions(Braxton Hixson), coming every few minutes. I go back to the ER and they basically look at me and tell me we don't know why your stomach is swollen, you are having contractions, but your pregnancy test is negative and you are not pregnant. I keep going to dr's and finally I get a, Ultrasound from a professional and they find fibroids on my uterous, and still they don't see a baby. I know some fibroids move, but I feeling kicking when I turn the radio on in the car, when I hear an all of the sudden loud noise, and when I talk to the baby, it kicks. I can get on my knees when the baby starts kicking and it make my body sway from left to right. Something is telling me I am having multiples and these doctors are too dumb to just look at the signs.
The other day, a few days before my period(bleeding fibroids) started, I had a small amount of yellow (snot looking discharge coming from my vagina).

So I pretty much am positive I am pregant, but it is so hard to get a DR to believe it. Is their some other test are determination my DR can do to determine a pregnancy other than using technology such as an ultrasound or checking for HCG in my blood.

I know their are rare cases where a woman's body can stop producing HCG, but as long as the baby has made it past 20 weeks, the baby can survive.

Also I am a software engineer. I think they don't see the baby because the fibroids is blocking the sound waves from travelling to the baby. If the sound waves are not able to reach the baby, then it will never generate a picture.

What are some other tests and methods to determine pregnancy. Is it safe for me to get a CT scan, or is their other blood test that will determine the pregnancy of the baby other than checking for HCG.

Wow CRAZY! First they see nothing then you give birth to twins. I wonder if the fibroids were blocking the view?? So happy for you, CONGRATULATIONS!

First of all, there is a difference between signs of pregnancy and symptoms of pregnancy. Abdominal growth, breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and even a positive pregnancy urine test etc. are all symptoms. They are present with many women and often indicate pregnancy, but not always, they can be caused by other things.

The only really TRUE signs of pregnancy are ultrasound visualization and sensing fetal movement.

Please seek a second opinion. At 6 months (24 weeks -ish) a baby should be extremely clear on ultrasound. Have they done a heartbeat on the doppler? Have they checked for ectopic (even though unlikely at this far along)? Ask them to do blood tests to check if you're HCG levels are falling. Also, have they considered the possibility you may have miscarried then become pregnant with another one putting you at a lesser date? You can also have a transvaginal ultrasound, they insert a probe in your vagina. It's not pleasant, but way more accurate at visualizing the uterus. Also, are they sure you only have one uterus? Some women have a bicornate uterus or even two totally separate uteri. Perhaps they're looking in the wrong spot?

I'm not trying to worry you. You may not be pregnant. BUT, if you are, either way, there needs to be further investigation into this both for your health and the baby's.

Please keep us posted. I hope it all works out for you.

Good luck!

When I had my 8 week ultrasound you could barely see much. By 12 weeks, you could see a baby, so definitely no doubt about it, at 6 months, you can see everything for sure. I don't understand how your doctor can confirm that you are pregnant if they are not seeing a fetus there.

Something doesn't sound right. Have they done any bloodwork? I am 25 weeks pregnant with my third and I have had bloodwork done three times now just for this pregnancy alone. As Jenni is asking, have they detected a heartbeat all this time? Do you have movement?

Did your doctor confirm you are still pregnant or did he confirm a miscarriage?

Can a heartbeat be detected?

Do you feel movement?

It can take around 20 days for HCG levels to return to normal after a miscarriage. (depending on the duration of the pregnancy, further along it takes longer for the levels to return to normal) During this time a pregnancy test will still show positive.

If a baby can't be seen on the ultrasound by 6 months.... you need a new ultrasound person.... or you aren't actually pregnant. Seek a second opinion asap.

You should speak to your doctor more. At 6 months pregnant, a baby is VERY visible in an ultrasound.
