My daughter is 7 months old. She usually sleeps through the night or maybe gets up once. Anyway during the day she takes lik 3 or 4 naps that last maybe 20 mins and sometimes not even that. Is that normal or is there something i can do to help her put all the little naps into one big nap or are they suppose to take little cat naps. It seems like right after i lay her down i'm turning around to go get her. I tired keeping her awake and she still falls asleep...Is this normal or can someone give me any ideas on how to make it one instead of 4?

My son was like this, and still is. He is 21 months, sleeps like a rock at night, we get 10.5 hours at night, but only a hour during the day, its just how he sleeps. I never found a good way to get better naps. You just need to find what works, maybe a different area of the house? Maybe in the living room - I found our son sleeps better on the couch with the day to day noise, verses in his crib ( wakes up instantly) Sucks I know. but you just have to learn what his sleep pattern is.

as long as she is sleeping well at night i wouldnt mess with her too much. i have 4 and they were all differant but they pretty much sleep when they need it during the day. as she gets older she will fix the naps herself. good luck and God bless

My son used to do the same thing. I think it is a phase some kids go through. It didn't last long for me anyways because now he takes 2-3 hour naps. I wasn't able to get him to take a long nap when he was going through the phase, he would sleep when he felt like it. I wouldn't be too alarmed about it, I think it's a normal thing for babies to go through. Good luck.

try going to play with some other children or to a playgroup for the morning so she is too busy to fall asleep then hopefully she will have one or two longer naps. my children usually slept morning and afternoon at this age. she will soon need less day time sleep so hang on in there!
