8 Month Old Sleeping Problems

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? My 8 month old daughter was sleeping through the night and for the past 2 months she has been waking up 2-3 times a night screaming. We do the same routine every night bath, bottle and book then put her into her crib (asleep). We have tried to put her in drowsy and she screams and screams (attempted the Ferber method but didn't like it). Any other suggestions to get her to sleep through the night again?

My little guy did the same things about 8-9 months. He would wake up at 4am and want a bottle and I got up with him for a few weeks and after seeing the dr decided I was not helping him by getting up with him. The dr. said he was fine and he was not needing to feed during the night, that he was able to go all night without eating and to let him cry it out (during the night). So the next night, he woke up at 4 and we let him cry, he cried in his crib for almost an hour but never did it again. It was just a habit and he was used to it, since I was getting up and all. He is a great sleeper now and we lay him down awake every night and at every nap and he may not cry any and go right to sleep or he may cry 15 minutes, depends on his mood. But for us, its best and the right decision to let him cry it out. I hope you find what is right for you and B!

Hmm...I haven't thought of the ear infection. Her ears are not red or anything but she does grab them (the doc told us this was because of her teething). I may try that.

She might be teething...my son is 18 months and still his sleeping paterns get disrupted by the whole teething thing...he is now on his molars...one more to go and his sleeping pattern has been disrupted yet again. I, too, did not like the Ferber method.

have you taken her to the dr to make sure she doesnt have ear infection - when mine started waking up at night after sleeping all night (and screaming which was uncommon) i took them to the dr and found out ear infection will casue babies to wake up at night .......  just an idea????
