Do you breastfeed? If so try breastmilk homemade popsicles. Just make sure to hold them so that your lil one doesn't go too nuts on it!

You could also invest in a Amber Teething necklace. I used this for my daughter, and it seemed to work!

a homeopathic remedy and now shopper's drug mart carries it in our neighborhood is Camillia made by Boiron. A paramedic friend of my husband told us not to go with oragel as it simply hardens the gums which in turn makes the whole process take longer. so I looked around and came across it in a health food store. It comes in both liquid and tablets. the liquid comes prepackaged in single doses and they simply swallow it. it works within five minutes and if not a second dose 15 minutes later was all I ever had to give to our first son before he fell back to sleep. (90% of his teething bouts were at night) it was awesome for lack of a better word.

I agree with one of the mom's who said she would put a wet wash cloth in the freezer. My boys both loved it. I also put their teething rings in the freezer for a few minutes....it would sooth them for a long time.

I have to also recommend the hyland teething tablets.  The desolve right in their mouths(the babies loveeeee them)...and it calms them down.  I've been giving those to my DD since she was 4 months!!! I also have frozen fruit that I let her suck on!!! Along with frozen popcicles that I let her suck on for the coldness...that really helps!!!  I do this all in conjunction with the baby orajel that I rub on her gums.  At night, I'd give her some Motrin to help her as she slept along with the baby orajel on her gums.  Chile and some prayer!!! That always works!!!

When my boys were younger I would take a wet wash cloth and tie it in a knot as tight as I could and then freeze it.  The cold would numb their gums and the wash clothe would suck up the saliva as they drooled.  Using a frozen wash cloth also took away the worries of them swallowing broken off pieces of teething biscuits and choking on them.  Another tip I used to use was to take a spoon and apply light pressure on the sore gums with the rounded side of the spoon.  The spoon would press against the jagged edges of the new teeth and help work it through the gums.  This would relieve pressure and help get those teeth through sooner.

I would not recommend letting a child chew on anything that could possibly bite off, even if it seems impossible for this to happen, it can and it has. You could put a wet small baby wash cloth in a plastic baggy and put that in the freezer for a little while and give it to baby. The have natural teething tables for fussy babies, they are made by hyland. Also have teething stick made by safety first.

Quoting Jon:

advice for a teething baby?

Let the baby chew on some cold carrots from the fridge or let him/her chew on frozen waffles
