It took till 3 month with my son & lots lots negitive tests till then & I even had a period like for 5 months of my pregnancy. With my daughter it was about 5 weeks had like 3 negitive urine & 1 blood. The next week took two diff home ones both positive & then doc did one positive to!

i suffered really bad periods and was usually realy ill for te first two days (couldn't even get out of bed!) so when i had the backache that normally lets me know my peiod is on the way and then no period, i knew i was pregnant, but i did three or four home tests that all came back negative, went to see hte doctor, she told me to wait another week and then try again. I'd been using hte early detecton tests, but bought a cheap supermarket kit that came up positive, tehn did a clearblue conception indicator to confirm an i was around six weeks.

there are pregnancy test kits that cannot detect HCG (hormone), especially in urine, in its early pregnancy, most kits are most likely to detect HCG in its 3 weeks of pregnancy, so you have to select a brand of a pregnancy test kit that detects even small amount or traces of HCG...

My first pregnancy, I had 6 urine tests, only 1 positive, Did a blood test but I knew I was. Second time, only 3 tests, all positive, one was very faint. But had a miscarriage. While gonig through blood tests to figure out why I lost it, found out I was pregnant again.

I had a false negative test with my second daughter and when I kept throwing up they finally did a blood test and it was positive. I think it may have something to do with how regular your cycles are and especially in young girls they are going up and down like crazy, as I'm sure you know, also if a person is on the pill. That seems to also have some bearing.

They did an ultrasound yesterday and found out she has a cyst in her ovary and also one in her uterus. It's strange to me because all the research I have done on uterine cysts says most women have excessive vaginal bleeding and she isn't having any at all. Does anyone have any info or know anything about any of this. I'm worried about her. The Dr doesn't seem too concerned but she is going to do another ultrasound in a month if she hasn't started her period yet.

My third I found out at 11 days. The other two I had other issues and the found out via ultrasound, one at 6 months, the other at 5 weeks.

Well the blood test was negative but the Dr still thinks that maybe we are testing too early. If she hasn't started her period by next week they are going to do an ultrasound.

I knew right away within two weeks. I took a test as soon as I started feeling different. It came back positive but it was a really faint line. I took another one a week later and it was a really clear positive.

you should never read the results of a pregnancy test after 10-20 mins of doing it. because they can give false posatives when the urine starts to dry.



my sister only got a pos test when she was 10 weeks pregnant with both kids.

with my 1st it came up pos 1 week after my missed period.

with my 2nd i had 3-4 neg tests before i finaly got a pos...even though it was sooo faint.

i was 2 1/2 weeks pregnant when I had a test come back positive, I just had a feeling I was, so I bought a test, I did the first response test, and took 9 of them and allof them were positive! i guess everyone is just different though!

i was about 2 weeks, i did a test on the friday it came back negative then i did another on the tuesday it was positive. but i knew i was pregnant as soon as i was a few days late cos that had never happened before i was always like clock work.

Well pregnancy tests are tricky. A positive is ALWAYS a positive, abut a negative isn't always a negative. Pregnancy tests look for a hormone in your urine, and sometimes it doesn't show up. Generally the further along you are, the more likely the test is to show up positive. But your body starts to produce the telltale hormone roughly 2/3 weeks after conception. Also, the body can give out false signals, re. bloating, constipation, swelling of the breasts, cravings, missed periods etc due to the brain tricking the body into thinking its carrying a baby, although very rare. The only way to be sure is to get an ultrasound.

a blood test is the best way to go knowing for certain is always good. I have had 2 test come out negative.I always made sure to take another one a couple days later right in the morning.sometimes those test just don't work my sister had a dital one and it told her to reject that test because there was something wrong with the test itself.. How long did they say the blood test would take?with my last child i took 5 test just to make sure it was correct the first one only had a faint faint line only a women could see so i made m husband go buy more since he is the one who didn't see it,. good luck

It was extremely light, but my first positive result was at 4 weeks. I wasn't sure about it because it was so light so I went to the Dr. and they told me that while I wasn't showing much of the hormone yet, I was in fact pregnant. So my "official" day of finding out I was 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I hope this helps!! Good luck with whichever way you hope for it to turn out!! :0)



Oh, and the test that showed it that early were First Response. On other tests I was still showing negative. So maybe try a different brand of test...

I found out I was pregnant when I was 3-4 weeks along. I took 2 home tests, the ones with the lines, and there were the FAINTEST lines on both of them, but not down the center like it was supposed to be. So I thought maybe it wasn't right, so I got a generic digital home test, and it said not pregnant. But then 2 days later I bought a Clear Blue digital test and it said it was pregnant.

So maybe it just depends on the test?

I had a positive test when I was 3 weeks along. My mom didn't know she was pregnant until she was over 3 months along because her tests were negative.

If you are both feeling that she is pregnant go and get a ultrasound. That is the only was she can be certain either way. I had a friend that was pregnant for 6 months and had numerous pregnancy test at home and at the doctor. It was only wen she started showing (mind you the whole time she thought she was and was being told otherwise by the dr) that they finally did an ultrasound and well she WAS pregnant wasnt she. It sound like if she is getting those symptoms she probably is, sometimes aswell if she is too early it can show as a negative as the hormone hasnt completely kicked in.

Well she is 12 days late and has all the symptoms....I mean all of them...lol. Even the Dr was surprised that the test was negative. So we should find out tomorrow or Wed at the latest what the blood test says. The Dr thinks that maybe we are just testing too early and that maybe she ovulated like a week before her period was due instead of 14 days after her last one. My sister said that maybe she is having twins and that is why her symptoms are so exaggerated.

I had to take 6 test with each one of my kids.. I was always 2 months along or more.. It was always the 6th on the came up positive for me I also use the Dollar one's from the dollar store.. They seemed to pick it up better then the others.. ( i use every kind out there LOL) But yes if left out they can turn from neg to pos..Best wishes...

Also did anyone else know that a negative test can turn positive if left sitting for a long period of time? We found that out today at the Dr. My daughter took a test a few days ago and it was negative but then she looked at it a few hours later and it was positive. The Dr said it was from sitting around for so long. I never knew that.

I know that I had a friend that had to take like 6 or 7 pregnancy tests. She knew that she was pregnant and I did too. She went to the store and bought each and every one. The first one said she was, the second said she wasn't and the 3rd one said she was and so on. She decided to go to Associated Pregnancy Services and get proof. They just do a urine test too, but once she went there and the test came back positive, she felt better. My pregnancy test on the other hand came back positive right away...in less that 3 minutes I knew. I bought a First Response pregnancy test and I had already known that I was pregnant becasue my period was 2 weeks late. Therefore, because I knew I was pregnant and once my test came back positive, I went to the same place(Associated Pregnancy Services) and got my proof of pregnancy, and then I went to the doctor a week later.

I don't know about the tests coming back negative but I do know that it is correct that if you leave a test sitting around for a while it will eventually turn positive. It's because there are traces of the hormone it looks for in every women, just not at a pregnancy level. So when the small amounts of the hormones finally show up the test turns positive. Good luck!
