The drs thought that my son had it when he was like 2 months old. He was not able to keep anything down and we had to take him to the dr like 2 days to run tests on him. He didnt end up having it but it was the scariest thing I have ever endured. Because the dr said that if he had it he would have had to have surgery but thankfully he didn't.

No, but I've taken care of TONS of kids pre-op and post-op. It is a relatively simple surgery, that usually only takes about 45mins. Most surgeons these days do it laparascopically, so there are usually 3 very small incisions, one of them through the belly-button so you can't even see it (of course, this depends on the the doctor, but most I've seen do it this way). Usually shortly after surgery (about 3hrs. - again, depending on the surgeon), they slowly advance feeds and when the baby can tolerate a feed you can usually go home shortly after. They usually do VERY well, within a few days post-op!

My friend's boy had this and she said the change was immediate- her baby boy gained weight real fast and is huge now! Like Jaimie said, it's a pretty common surgery and very simple. good luck!

My son had it at 6 weeks and had to have immidate surgery cause he was loosing weight and had not held down any food in 3 days!! The surgery is really simple and pretty common from what the doc told me. my son was a little crabby after wards but nothing major. Just when they let you feed him finally make sure you burp really really good!! they would'nt let me feed me son for 10 hours and it was horrible i felt sooo bad. but now he's 5 and he has grown off his chart lol. we stayed 4 days in the hospitial.
