Any babies here that walked b4 they crawled or just skipped crawling?

So true 2 out of 5 kids just walked my now 7 year old son was too fat to even lay on his belly or get on his knees ( too painful) he would just sit there at 9 months he got bored and took his first step. Now my 7 month old who is a healthy weight refuses tummy time she likes to stand and hold on to the table and such, doctors say it might be a problem if they miss a milestone but i dont worry to much about crawling as long as other milestones are met. If it was my 1st child doing this i would probably be very concerned. hope this eases some troubles but always check with your pediatrician.

me and my brother and sister skiped crawling too, also one of my children skipped crawling and my daughter bum scooted..lol. and its awsome that your baby is loving trying to walk, sorry i just dont agree with your parents and as well i do know how u feel with the parents being so overwelming...it sounds like your doing a great job and this is your baby not theres and they had there chance on raising children,its nice to have SOME of there point of views ..LOL....

my oldest son never crawled he rolled over and over to get places but never crawled and he is perfect he is 6 feet 4 and walks fine i find somekids just dont crawl

My babies are at that stage yet by my mom and her twin sister never crawled, they just walked.

Yes i understand that , not everyone agreed when i got my son a walker but they all pretty much ate their words when he was walking so early

I think I'm going to get one this weekend. I had been discouraged by my dad and other parents because they said it would keep my baby from walking and the bones..etc. But after reading all the comments and online info I'm sure that it will enable not handicap my kid if I give him this. I feel it will be a tool to explore more..and for me. Well I don't have to "assist" so much. My biceps are in Pain. lol. Thanks so much.

Firstly i know its hard but dont worry bout any milestones unless there is a possibility of health issues , they all get there in the end and the more you push them the less likely they are to do it!!! lol

My son never crawled at all , he rolled over at 3 months and used to get around by rolling then at 9 months he just went straight to walking.

Does he have a walker?? Or when my son was 7 months i used to sit on the floor opposite my mum ( just arms reach away) and Ben would walk to each of us in turn and gradually we wouls sit further n further apart until he just got up n walked wherever he wanted to go!!

Then the fun really starts!!! lol Good Luck!

My youngest son basically skipped crawling altogether.  He pulled himself along using just his arms for about 2 wks and then went to assisted walking.  He hated being on his belly.  Anytime I tried he'd simply roll back over or get up. He's 2 1/2 now and we haven't had a bit of problems with his walking at all. The importance of tummy time is more for their neck muscles than anything.

sheesh mine is almost 7 months and she has only rolled over once, but she scoots on her belly like a champ and can support herself standing on furniture!  I guess all babies are different, and will do what they feel is natural to them.  I just finally got her to sit, she only wanted to stand all the time and my biceps are looking pretty good :) I am not worried because although she was 2 months early she is hitting most the milestones just fine, I am not sure that babies would be crawling at 4 months anyway, I think most are just turning over...There are sites like gerber and enfamil that sort of give you the guidelines that most babies hit at a certain age...

My daughter never crawled. She butt scooted. My son went from crawling to less than a week later walking around things. He was like 5 months old at that point. After my son crawled my daughter did it to copy him. They are 22 months apart. The reason why the push crawling is so they learn to move one leg then the other. My daughter had no problems learning to walk (she walked late because she has down syndrome. She could have walked about 13-14 months but she wouldn't do anything until she was positive she could do it on her own and it took forever to convince her she could.) Not every baby is going to crawl at 4 months. Give him time he will figure out how to get around one way or another.
