I took Clomid after 9 months of trying. On the 2nd cycle (50mg dosage) we got a positive result! Our bgb triplets were born at 34 weeks weighing 4' 5", 4' 7", and 4' 1". Everyone was home before they were 2 weeks old and have been great since. We have been very blessed.

Hi, i took clomid for the first month, after 2 months of trying (I had hormonal imbalance / breast secretion.. got treated with cabgolin for a month to balance it), then immediately on first month of trying with clomid, got pregnant. But other things i'd like to share which i did to get pregnant are 1) used pregnacare-z tablets from 2-3 months, 2) did mild yoga exercises and tried to relax about trying recently, went out on trips, 3) gave my hubby Zincovit syrup to add zinc, 4) alternate day intercorse and tricks as suggested in websites during intc. 5) Generally eating more & more., Now i am in 1 and half months and hoping everything goes well with my pregnancy :) all the best to you too

I took it for 3 months along with the HCG shot. I hated it, made me super crabby and have me NO desire to have sex with my husband!! WE gave up on it and are now using alternative ways to try and conceive. I know people that is has worked for, but it made me so crazy I had to stop taking it.

I took clomid for both my children. It took 6 months with my daughter (my oldest child) and 1 month with my son.

I tried for 10 months to get pregnant with my second daughter, all ten months my ovulation sticks were negative. One cycle of Clomid resulted in a positive ovulation test and then my beautiful daughter Maya. Everyone is different but best of luck to you!!

Good luck with your cycle... and your hormones... hope you don't have the HOTFLASHES like I did taking it. I took it a total of 6 months before we achieved our goal. My doctor kept gradually increasing dosage... first time just Clomid. 2nd month stonger with a shot in the hip to boost the actual ovulation.. did that 2 more times... no luck.. then the last two cycles I did Clomid and Menopur shots daily.. those were NOT as bad as I thought they would be.. tiny needles and did not hurt... then the big shot in the hip when the eggs were ready to ovulate... and the second cycle we did those dosages it WORKED! ;) We had our first daughter Nora (June 2004)

...... then when she was about 2 years old we were wanting another child.. and had relocated to TX by then. Found a fertility doctor - got records transfused... first cycle of meds. the new doctor used the past doctor's prescription strengths/dosages... and BAM - my body OVER stimulated to the drugs! At the ultrasound they measured over 12 eggs large enough to ovulate!!! We were scared to say the least and went home not knowing what would happen... but b/c when you are trying you follow their schedule they put you on... "relations" and we had, had them the night before that ultrasound the "welcome committee" was already there to meet and greet the eggs... and we were blessed that only 2 of the many eggs ovulated! and our b/g twins were born June 2007.

I'd give it 6 months.. everything I read about it when I was taking it said that after 6 months if you have not achieved pregnancy then taking it longer won't increase your chances. It is stressful to want a child and not be able to... we were childless for 8 years before our Nora blessed us. Just 6 years ago we thought we'd never have a child... and then we did - 3 in 3 years!

Good luck to you and God bless. ~bonnie in SE Texas

Has anyone heard of Feminene? It is a wonderful natural supplement that is targeted for the female reproductive system/hormones. It helps with cramping, menstrual cycles, moods, pms, and menopause symptoms also. There's a woman in our organization who had very irregular periods - they almost never stopped - i think she had her period on and off all the time. She used our Feminene product (along with other health supplements) and it is back to what you would call a normal menstruation cycle. I cannot promise anything with this supplement, and Im not here to say it cures or heals anything - but it does help. If you'd like information on it, send me a message. (We have all kinds of vitamins, minerals, digestive health products, to help with all types of issues.)

I did not use Clomid for my 1st pregnancy, but used it for my 2nd b/c I was having difficulty ovulating b/c I have cysts on my ovaries that would cause me to have really long cycles. I used it once and got pregnant right away! Then to try to get pregnant with my 3rd child I used it several times (sorry lost track of exactly how many times). Also needed to use the HCG shot a couple of those times. Over the course of a year and a half none of it worked the 3rd time around. But keep in mind I didn't try with clomid every month b/c I didn't have a normal 28-30 day cycle. After we stopped trying we got pregnant on our own 8 months later. I did lose some weight and began exercising and also just gave up on having another child because I really didn't think it was going to happen. So, perhaps my mind was off it enough and that's why we got pregnant. It took 2 years though total to get our daughter. Unfortunately she was stillborn. Ironically we got pregnant after just one cycle after her birth. Who would've thought that after 2 years of trying we could get pregnant again so easily and effortlessly?! Well, good luck with your journey!

Clomid is tricky and NOT recommended for more than 6 consecutive cycles. Most doctors will start out at a low 50-100 mg dosage. By the 5th or 6th consecutive cycle, the maximum recommended dosage is 250 mg. Clomid can cause nasty cysts that are prone to rupturing, leading to scar tissue or loss of ovary/fallopian tube. Being on Clomid also requires moniotirng via blood work and often internal vaginal ultrasounds once you are prescribed higher dosages to check for cysts.

In any event, I became pregnant on the 4th cycle of Clomid. That resulted in my 2nd miscarriage. Then some time passed and began another Clomid cycle and we tried an IUI cycle with it. Got pregnant on the 2nd month, but by this time the dosage had started at 150 mg and I was in the fertility doctor's office frequently for ultrasounds and blood work. Well that was the 3rd miscarriage. Just be sure that your doctor is monitoring you carefully. Best of luck to you!
