My son is on Adderall for his ADHD and I feel he is to little for his age. I feed him regularly with the basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner routine. Although he likes to eat healthy. He would rather have subway over McDonald's any day. I would like some opinions for mothers in my shoes!

Did his doctor tell you he was underweight? Firstly, you should never start filling a child with fatty foods specifically for the purpose of weight gain without medical advice. Secondly, I am pretty sure McDonalds is NOT the type of "fat" that is recommended for children who ARE diagnosed as underweight. There are good fats and bad fats. McDonalds mostly falls under bad fats. However, talk to his doctor.

I don't know how tall he is, but he is over the 50% for weight for his age group.....

Hi Katrina thanks for the response. My son weighs 65 lbs. at 8 years old. I stare at him and see his bones and it makes me feel like I don't feed him enough.

How old is he and what does he weigh?
I would not give him junk food purely to put on weight...the long term disadvantages to his health are not worth it.
If he likes healthy food, give it to him...just give him more of it.
