I have a fisher price and it really sucks. It goes through batteries like crazy. It is also super fuzzy. I would like to be able to plug in both units. The reciever I have can't be used while it's plugged in! I hate it!

We're on our second Fisher Price monitor. The first one was awesome and the reciever can be used plugged in or on batteries. It's not too expensive either. Here's the link but we paid less than what the price on the website says. We had the one with one reciever. http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2...

The one we have now is http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2...

It works ok but I liked the other one better.

As for the batteries? When I was pregnant, we knew we would be going through a lot of batteries for a variety of things. So we spent a little extra money and got a big battery recharger that holds every battery type. Between the batteries and the charger, we spent about $100 total BUT we haven't had to buy batteries in the 18 months since my son's been born. The rechargables cost more, but they pay for themselves a hundred times over in the long run!

I can't remember the brand, but I have a video monitor! It's great. Both units plug in and the monitor can be used with sound only or video as well. It also has night vision so you can always see your little one! We love it because our rooms are on different floors and it's great to be able to see our son. It stops a lot of unnecessary checking in..which for my guy disturbs him and makes him wake up! It was expensive, but I am planning on using it for along time. Great to put in his play room so I can always keep an eye on him when he's older! This was probably the best thing we received when our son was born (Thanks Mum and Dad!).

I used the Angel Care Monitor (with the sensor pad for under the mattress). I really likes it and thought that it worked well. It's a little more expensive than others but it was worth it.
