My 3 1/2 month old may have a form of microcephaly. We won't know for sure until we get back to the doctor. Her head circumference has only grown maybe an inch to an inch and 1/2 since birth. She has one cheek bigger than the other, and a ridge on top of her skull. She has other signs as well. Except that she has no developmental delays or it hasn't seemed to have caused her any problems yet. I would just like to know more about it from moms instead of just all the medical stuff I have read online. Thank you for any help you can give.

My daughter Karly Rose was born 10-16-09 and was quickly diagnosed with Microcephaly(small head) and Lissencephaly(brain didn't fully develope) she is a little over 15 months old now and is doing great developementally! She has little issues but seems to work through them very well! She is seeing a Genetics Dr but no luck with a syndrome. One side of her face is also bigger than the other but every Dr says its not signifigant enough to worry about, she is also very happy all of the time. When she was first diagnosed I drove myself crazy searching online for anything, that is the biggest mistake you can make the internet only has the worst case synerio! I was reading your post and noticed our little girls have alot in common including their name! If you need any help or just want to talk I will message you my # and if you must do reasearch online look up Angelman syndrom. It is 1 of the syndroms I thought my daughter might have and your daughter seems the same from what you have posted! Thanks and God bless

My friend's daughter has microcephaly along with seziure disorder. Microcephaly can be very different for each individual so it's hard to say how it will effect your daughter.

Thank-you. I have read that some infants and children seem fine. Karly is doing very well, so I hold out for a good outcome.
