Myself and the kids occasionally get bug bites (spider or other household pests). Wondering if anyone has a natural home remedy other than store bought remedies such as Caladryl Lotion and like products. Thanks so Much once again. Sue :)

One of my mommy friends that I met on August 2006 boards of, What To Expect When You're Expecting site told me to rub deodorant on mosquito bites. It takes the itch out

a drop of oregano oil on the bite (but not for under two yrs) it's potent stuff, but works
i also put a bit of clear nail polish on my mosquito bites, and it actually works (i learned that watching CSI lol!)

I remember my grandmother rubbing chewing tobacco on my bee stings once. She grabbed it right out of my uncle's mouth and I was so grossed out. It worked though. My mother-in-law told me to use liquid hand soap. Just rub the soap on the bite (no water). It's a quick home remedy. I sometimes have to apply the soap more than once but I have noticed that it makes a difference.

Make baking soda into a paste and leave it on the bug bit. My mom had me do that when I was pregnant since I didn't want to use chemicals and it worked pretty good.

The banana peel has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antipruritic properties, it can be helpful on insect bites and plant stings.

Vinager takes away the sting and itch. The stronger the vinegar the better like apple cider but white vin works good too.
