I do a Direct Sells business and most of the time work it out of my home.  It is work, you don't just sit there and think people are going to knock down the door for your product.  You do need to apply yourself.  It is for a Dual Marketing Company, not a MLM.  You don't purchase at one price and your recruiter at another one.  Some people do go out to do their sales, but others have their clients come to their home for facials and to pick up orders.  It is your business, you do it the way you want, but you have others in the business to help you when you need help, you are not by yourself.  We are also the highest paid commission Direct Sales in the USA and have been in business since 1963.

I was able to take care of my darling Mother for 8 months around the clock and still make money!

There are jobs that you can do from home, my DIL did Medical Transcriptions for a while.  She had to go to college to get a degree to do this, then had to work thru someone else who had the accounts.  They were running into lots of the work being outsourced to foreign countries (yes even this!)  She had to purchased expensive equipment to do this, and had to really concentrate to get things done, not play with the kids while making money.

She is now running a medical office at a hospital 

There are other companies that allow their employees to do some of their work at home, but usually you have to work at the office first to prove yourself.

Then, there are the scams, stuff envelopes, do surveys, etc, most of which you do not make money.

If you're in Michigan, I work from home for a great company! No start-up fees or products to buy and re-sell. 50% commission (usually $200-$400 per sale). There is actually very little 'selling' involved. The 'clients' that you visit are already interested in helping the local community, and are just looking for a physical person to 'put a face on the company.' The work is straight forward, and is 95% finding out more about the person and holding their hand while they fill out paperwork. I represent a company that is AWESOME I have not actually done anything with my business for the past 2 months and yet this week I still received a check in the mail for over 300.00 and if I really wanted to I could make that check grow HUGE....I have friends who get 2,000 up to several thousand EVERY MONTH.....I did another home based business for 5 years and I have made more with this Co. in 11 months than I did for 5 years with the other one. I love the fact that I do it ALL from my home and I DO NOT sell anything, carry NO inventory, and you can start this business with only a 29.00 investment. I'm a CPA working for a large international firm, and work almost exclusively from home (my kids still go to daycare per my agreement).  The jobs are out there, but without knowing your skill set it's hard to recommend something.

SCENTSY!  It doesn't require a lot of start up, only 99 dollars, and you get the benefits... The start up kit contains a warmer and wax and all the tools you need to sell the same wonderful items to people who are looking for it.  Just pass out catalogs and cards and people come to you.  I leave catalogs in waiting rooms (doctor's and dentist's offices) and leave cards with cashiers at the grocery stores, etc.  It sells itself.  Check it out!!!  http://www.scentsy.com/amybetterton

Hello Ladies!

I too am a stay at home mom.   I have spent years looking into and trying different work from home companies.  All seem to be that you have to sell - actually beg your family and friends to buy things they either can't afford of don't need.  My Mom said that she would rather give the cash, instead of buy the stuff, and having the company that was to be helping me earn money, actually taking most of it as "their cut".  This did not work for me or many others!

My very frugal Police Officer husband, found this company, and wanted me to get involved.  My first thought, was, "No way...I am not going to get myself into the unapproved by him, work from home thing again!:  I had learned my lesson and was not going to go there!

Because he was so impressed, I thought that maybe I will take a look and get some more information, with him by my side.  All though I was leary, the company and business plan was different from anything else I had seen or worked with.  This plan actually made sense for everyone! 

A little over a year later, we have been saving and earning money from day one, and it continues every month, because it is residual income.  We have also helped so many other families do the same.  Our companies mission statement is "Enhancing the lives of those we touch, by helping people reach their goals"

I do not sell, stock, deliver or inventory products, I do not collect money! 

NO huge investment!  NO new money!

I do all my business from home, never need a baby sitter!

Best of all!  There is absolutely NO RISK!!

I would love to know as well.!.  However, I do not want to  be a part of an "own your own business", sell things to people and pay a bunch of money to get started in something that requires taking my business to other people in hopes of selling it to others.  Blah blah blah, not into netwoork marketing.  Does anyone REALLY know of a legit job you can do from home?
