Are you a Bikini Mum?

I'm a bikini mom, I just don't care anymore LOL I still weigh 20lbs more then I did BEFORE I got pregnant and my daughter is 9 months now. I swear the breastfeeding is making me keep the weight on. I also have stretch marks all over my hips, thighs and boobs, but it's what being a mom is. I hold Brooke and proudly show off what being a mom is all about :D

But once I lose the last 20lbs I'm going to be SO much happier in a bikini!

Nope definetly not a bikini mum. After my first pregnancy my belly got covered in stretch marks and that was the end of my bikini days!

I wish I could wear a bikini with confidence. With 3 kids, 3 pets, full schedule day and night, who has time to work out? I certainly don't!

Not yet, getting a c-section tummy back in shape is not the easiest. I will be sporting the tankini this summer :(

On Monday my 3 boys and I had a cookout/pool party with family & friends we ate burgers and hot dogs, soda, water, and throughout the day we were in & out of the pool. My boys wore swim trunks, so did my brother in law & my friends husbands. My nieces wore regular one piece swimsuits because they are 4, 3, 1, and 9 months old. We had a great time and enjoyed it fantastically! I am sorry that me being able to wear a bikini while having a great time with my kids at the pool or beach offends Sharon.

Heck, Monday I took my kids to the beach. What did they wear? My son wears full length swim shorts. My girls-one piece only. My girls are only 11 and 6. They are not allowed to wear a 2 piece. Its just not appropriate at their age. I spent 2 days searching for a 1 piece for my 11 yr old. Fifnally found one. Speedo brand..ended up paying close to $50 for it, but she can swim in it and not have to worry about her bits and pieces showing! She will outgrow it this summer and next summer we will have the same challenge. My 6 yr old, same swim suit for the past 2 or 3 yrs. She never gets fatter, just taller. lol. As for me, Monday at the beach, I was wearing shorts and a tank top. I don't have cottage cheese thighs, but I am not going to put on anything that I feel uncomfortable in. Like I said, I lost weight quickly after my kids, so a little loose skin was left on my belly. Heck I am 5'2 and barely weigh over 100 pounds, but just b/c I am slim doesn't mean I am ready to flaunt around in a bikini and subject people to my junk. lol

Someone's angry. This is what is wrong with our society - way too judgemental sometimes. Would you really rather spend your life mad at every ugly person or maybe try talking to them and finding out they are actually a nice person?

I haven't even been able to take my son to the beach yet as he is 7 months old. So I'm not bragging because I haven't been yet. But I'll have you know that my boyfriend and I stood in Target a few months ago and almost cried because we saw this little sand sculpture that you make shapes out of. We both got caught dreaming of when we could first take him to the beach and play with him and I really had to catch myself and breathe for a second.

I cannot wait to do this. My boyfriend and I talk all the time about what we are excited to do with our kids. We had kids to enjoy them. We talk constantly about how we want them to be happy, and do everything we can in order for them to grow up with great holiday experiances and know in the end we will love them no matter what they want to do in life.

So, I think you're way off base doubting that we love our kids just because we are bragging about wearing bikinis. ?!

I can wear a bikini. I have worn tankinis. But frankly most women don't belong in bikinis. Especially moms' of multiple kids. I'm sorry but cottage cheese thighs just gross me out.

The reasons for wearing a bikini is to show off your body. If you don't have the body to show off, then you're just grossing people out.

I get women in my store all the time, hundreds of pounds overweight trying to cram themselves into bathingsuits that wouldn't fit my 7 yr old. I see them at the pool too. Its not cute, sexy or "juicy".

To me, bikinis are all about sex. I can't swim or play in what the teen girls wear around here. And my kids want to play. As for an 8 yr old in a bikini - sorry but that is just SKANK. Tankinis - maybe, depends on the cut. My 7 yr old plays and plays hard. her bathingsuit needs to stay in place. I see to many toddlers and young girls with their chests exposed and ass crack hanging out at the pool after surfing in the waves. Their parents might as well let their kids run around naked.

I'm not at the pool to show off and I don't believe in tanning for the sake of tanning. I'm at the pool to play with the kids or to supervise.

I do appreciate being in shape. Which I'm not. I'm not fat but I can't claim to be in shape. I miss being able to run a mile or hike for hours. THOSE were things I was proud of.

I see that you are very proud to be "able" to wear a bikini. But I see no boasting that you had a good time with your kids. NICE.

I love to see pregnant woman in bikinis. I think it's just the most beautiful thing. The majority of my pregnancy was during the winter as well, so I was bummed I wasn't going to have the opportunity. I did manage to get one occasion in before it got too cold. There was a music festival on Halloween and I was just starting to really show (you know when the belly hits that round, solid point where you know its preggo and not just chunky?) so for halloween I dressed up as a hula girl, with grass skirt and coconut bikini top. At the festival someone was doing face painting, I had her paint a tropical flower right around my belly button, front and center. I was so proud!!!

I hopefully will be soon! I've been working my butt off (literally!) since I had my second 10 weeks ago. I've lost all my baby weight plus an extra 10 pounds so far. My goal is 10 pounds more, and then I'll be the size I was when I wore a bikini last. Too bad I live in the prairies where beaches are scarce!

my weight was 111lbs before my pregnancy and the same after. I had twin boys and I lost the little "baby weight" that I did have rather quickly. as a result my mid section looks like Droopy the dogs face... unless one of you has a miracle cure for stretch marks (please say you do) then no more bikini for me. which is extremely sad considering I pretty much lived in it pre-pregnancy :/

I have recently seen lots of moms in bikini's sadly I will not be one this year. My belly is covered in stretch marks and I am sure no one wants to see that :( It was a big self esteem issue with me at first. All my friends still have hot bodies and wear bikinis and then there is me in my tankini.

I wear a 2-piece, but it's not what I'd call a bikini. At 5'7" and 195lbs a bikini would NOT be good. :/ But I still wear my bathing suit to the beach - in fact the last 2 days I took the kids to the beach. I was slightly envious of all the young hot chicks walking around and wondered if I ever looked like that (hmmm.....nope, don't think so), but I wasn't worried what anyone thought of me either.

I could but I don't. I have never been comfortable in a bikini even when I should have been! I like swim skirts and bikini tops. It is sort of the best of both worlds. I can bend over to tend to my kiddie without fear of chaos and can also show off my small waist I worked hard to regain!

I’m what you call a bikini mom with issues of keeping the ladies in line. I’m 5’2” 115 lbs. I wear board shorts with my bikini and I am looking for a cute top that allows me the freedom of not checking on my chest every time I breathe. Kids did not do wonders for the shape of my little frame.

Well, right now it's either ugly ugly maternity 'tent' for swimming or a bikini. I chose bikini. Had it on yesterday. Tan lines to prove it. I really like the tankinis and the one pieces that look like they're from the 40s. but hard to find ones that i like. Luckily no one really sees me in bathing suits besides spouse and his/my family at the pond. So, it's not too big an issue. :) I don't mind belly showing anymore, but i'd like to have some kind of a cover for my bottom. little skirt things and stuff like that.

I have never, ever, ever felt comfortable in a bikini, even when I was a teenager. Ironically, I felt more confident and comfortable while pregnant than at any other time (maybe it's because it's the first time that I was proud of having a protruding belly, instead of wanting to hide it). Maybe if I get pregnant again, I'll try it in my own yard first to see how I feel.

I was comfortable with my pregnancies, but most of mine were winter pregnancies, so no bathing suit at all was worn. I lost weight quickly, which leaves a little extra here and there, so I am in no way comfortable in one now. Of course after going to the beach yesterday and seeing some people in their bikinis, I shouldn't be embarrassed at all....I guess some people have no shame! lol. Its just a comfort thing for me. To those who can pull off wearing a bikini after having kids (and no plastic surgery), kudos to you! Just not for me

That is awesome Marisa. I never ever showed my huge baby bellies. I wouldn't even get into photos being pregnant with any of my pregnancies so no way on gods green earth would you be getting me in a bikini for the world to see it. However, I love love love that you felt comfortable enough too. :)

After having 3 kids, I am not comfortable in a bikini. I wear the tank top type with boy shorts bottoms. The only way I would get back into a bikini is after a visit with a really good plastic surgeon! lol

I'm working on it! I just started an intense workout program and I've started making smarter food choices (for the whole family). 2 weeks in and I've lost 10 pounds! Slowly but surely I'll get back to a bikini body!
