LOL My friend has a 10 month old and she gives he mashed potatoes, plain whit rice, cherrioes and more... I know not to give him sweets of course and dairy products cause it could clog him lol I just want to know when it's safe to feed him a little bit of noodles and mash here and there?? thanx!!

My daughter started eattingsome table food at about that age as long as they are things like mashed potatoes that he can eat with out chooking on it. It should be fine.

My kids were off baby food by 9mo's and 100% on food that we ate. They had sweets occasionally they just didn't have milk. But they can eat things with milk in them, yogurt, cheese all by this age.

When I asked my doctor this same question, he told me that when she starts really acting interesting in what you eat then its ok to start them on regualr food. The other thing he said was to not feed them a plate of everything like you and i would eat. One day let him have your potatoes only to see how he reacts to them. The next day, to could give him potatoes and greens, etc. Slow letting him get use to each food. Hope this helped. By the time my child was 10 months she had a small portion of everything I was eating. She is now 2 years and the teacher said that she is the best eater at daycare.

As long as your carefull about the salt intake (babies cannot break down salt and it can cause kidney problems) then you can feed him the same as you eat. I used to make the same food for my daughter and blitz it down i just wouldn't add salt. :)

I started feeding my son plain steamed veggies, mash potatoes, etc around 6-7 months. He is currently 11 months and eats anything I give him. We weaned him off the baby food except a jar of fruit here and there and his baby cereal which he eats every morning for breakfast. The doctor says he's healthy and to keep up with what we are doing

My son was trying to grab everything from our plates by the tim he was about 6 months, so we tried some baby food at that point. Yuk, he hated it. So we skipped to other soft foods. His favorites were scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes and yogurt. By the time he was 9 months he was eating a pretty good variety of finger foods and soft stuff.

i think i started my daughter out on table foods when she was about 7-8 months, she didnt want to eat her baby food anymore, and i had read about baby-led weaning. she loved it! now she eats very well, everything we eat and shes 15 months. google baby-led weaning, and they have recipes and tips on what and how to feed your baby. oh, and there's a lot on there about letting your baby feed himself, it makes a mess, but they have more fun that way and tend to eat more. good luck! :)

Our son started eating table foods around 6 months of age. Of course I started out puree homemade foods and slowly introduced foods that were cut really small. Our son never ate jarred baby foods. I love to cook so he always has food made by his Momma! :) By 9 months of age he was pretty much eating what we ate with the exception of the things you avoid until they turn 1.

By 9 months, my daughters were not eating any jarred foods. I fed them a version of bite sized table foods.

My son's ped. said by nine months. I think we started giving Bryce table foods at 8 months. He was/is a really good chewer, so he has no problem with eating what we eat. I usually make eggs, pancakes or french toast for breakfast, then I will give him jarred baby food (either a veggie or fruit), then for dinner he eats what we eat. He doesn't eat too much, yet, so I still give him oatmeal before I give him his last breastfeeding for the night. Just make sure you aren't giving you son things babies aren't allowed to eat: nuts, honey, uncooked veggies... You can give your son whole milk yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese... just make sure it is whole milk. My son doesn't do that good with cheese, so when I make mac and cheese, I give him the noodles before I cheese them. To make sure he gets enough fruit, I buy jars of fruit cocktail and he eats that like mad. :)

Start the table food now if he is showing interest. I think it is great that he wants to try everything. Just stay away from foods that are known to cause allergies such as all nuts, shellfish, etc......

My youngest daughter would never take baby food - she hated it right from the start! So instead (starting at about 5 months) I just gave her tiny tiny pieces of regular food and she loved it. I always cut them up super tiny and kept an eye on her to make sure she didn't choke and she was a happy camper :) I didn't give her anything that would be bad for her (honey, peanut butter, milk, etc.) and I did get her doctor's approval before I gave her the regular food.

My middle daughter started getting table food at about 9 months or so (maybe a couple weeks earlier). Once again, cut up really tiny so she couldn't choke.

My oldest daughter started table food at 8 or 9 months old... We really can't remember since it was 8 years ago! lol

my son has had nothing but table food (and breastmilk!) since six months -- he's 7.5 months now and last week he had spaghetti, lasagna, corn on the cob, oranges, peaches, chicken, hamburger, bread with butter or cream cheese or peanut butter, and i'm sure plenty of other things that i don't remember.

i never did baby food/purees. at 9 months, your baby is definitely old enough to have table food, but since you did purees, he might need smaller chunks to learn how to chew. :) let him swipe away!

He's old enough now but make sure you're giving him healthy, well rounded meals. Just noodles is probably not the best choice - plain veggies would be better.

As long as you wait some time inbetween foods in order to watch for possible allergies...we always gave our son "grown up food" so he would be used to it - he loved our food and pretty much hated baby food...

now is fine - my son was eating all table food by 7 months. just make sure things are small and soft for him to chew...but even meat can be cut into tiny pieces for him to chew or "gum up" if he's not yet got many teeth. it's okay to use dairy products in his meals (such as a bit of cheese, or milk in his mash potatoes) because it's such a small amount it doesn't matter much (dr told me this at 9mth check up and when i looked at the jars of baby food i realized that there are milk products in them. i made my own food so i didn't realize this) it's just not okay for him to be drinking milk yet :)
