At what age should a girl start shaving her legs?

Try letting her just shave her calves and knees, to start. As an adult, I don't shave my thighs because it's that much more time I don't waste having to do it. They have very fine blonde fuzz on them, as you describe, that is barely noticeable and can't be seen much even in shorts and skirts. I don't even do that in the summer in bathing suit weather and I'm so much happier! :)

I Think You Should Let Her, The Last Thing You Want Is Her To Be Self-Conscious About Herself.
What I Dont Understand Is How It Is Really Going To Affect The Rest Of Her Life?
Its Not Like Having A Kid Or Doing Drugs...Its Shaving Her Legs, The Age At What She Starts Isnt Going To Change Her Life.
Im Pretty Sure A 12 Year Old Can Handle It.

I started at about 10-11ish. I didn't ask my mom I just started doing it.

If she's uncomfortable w/ her leg hair... it's time, regardless of age. Just make sure she knows that if she starts... it's a lifetime commitment. ;)

I started at 13 and now I have thick stubbly black hair. I started with blonde fuzz too. If I don't shave my bikini line every few days it grows down to my knees. There are no guarantees how it will look in 35 years. I don't want her to regret it like I did.

I ve been shaving since 12 I had blonde peach fuzz then......... LMAO not no more!

But I also dont think its a big deal at all, its not like she wants a bikini wax!!

I don't think its really such a big deal, as long as its just her legs (maybe her pits, if necessary). I started shaving my legs around 11-12... I had blonde fuzz then, 10 years of shaving later, I still have blonde fuzz.

Make it the rule as long as shes sporting blond peach fuzz she cant shave. :0)

I think 12 is perfectly reasonable. If she feels ready, I would totally let her. Otherwise, she will probably just do it behind your back or resent you.



I disagree that when a girl should start shaving is such a big decision. If she starts to shave, then decides it doesn't matter enough for her to keep it up, I think it is her decision.

I started shaving when I was 12, if all the other girls are doing it I would let her start, just show her how to do it properly, and make sure she knows that it will grow back thicker and darker in the future
