At what point do you stop burping your baby? My daughter is only 3 months old, but it's getting harder and harder to get a burp out of her. Is it normal to stop burping her at such a young age? We are already going with a full bottle before we even try and she seems to be o.k.

Hi,
Breast feed babys will not often burp if they are latching correctly, ours is 6m but we will still try for a min or two. You will know if your baby has gas or reflux!

i guess if you hold her or she sits upright a lil more it should be less of a prob to pass gas on her own. Ur baby will prob let you no if this new system works for them or not ;)

i stopped burping our daughter at about 4 months! she just didn't burp anymore no matter how much we tryed! and i worried about it too! she is now 8 months old and is doing fine! we just thought "if she is happy and dosen't need it then why stress over it"

After about 3 months or so (most) is when you stop burping a baby because babies are naturally able to burp themselves which may be the case with your baby. As long as she is not looking too uncomfortable and cranky even though she hasn't been able to give you a burp, she might be doing fine. Of course though, always follow up or call your doctor with any questions, that's what they get paid a billion dollars for! lol.

We stopped really trying to burp our baby, because it was hard also. I always try for a minute, and sometimes she burps, but if she doesn't I don't worry, because I will just be holding her and she will burp on her own a lot. Try, but don't worry if she doesn't burp!
