babies and chiropractors?

Hi Jesse I have 2 baby boys both of which have been adjusted since birth and I was under Chiro care throughout both pregnancies. The adjustments are very gentle and realigns their central nervous system that allows their little bodies to function at 100%. My hubby is a Chiro and adjusts many babies and children it helps them sleep better, fight colds, ear infections, bed wetting just to name a few. My 2 year old has been a tummy sleeper since he was 2 months old.

Yes we did. They use a device that looks like a mini pogo stick. It barely even gives off any pressure. Go it is great. Some people are tummy sleepers. try starting him on his tummy and rolling him over after he is sound asleep. Of course he may wake up and cry to be rolled back.

My boys have been going to the chiropractor (their great grandfather) since birth and they are young men now with straight spines. I had read when I was pregnant that SIDS was often attributed to the misalignment of the neck and spine in a newborn because of the pulling that occurs when they are born. I just had them checked and normally in newborns and infants, a chiropractor uses finger manipulation and it is very gentle.

my daughter started sleeping on her tummy as soon as she could roll to it. As long at they are able to lift their head then it should be OK. Just be sure there are no blankets or pillows under him so his mouth is safe and sound. When my daughter started doing this my mom said most babies do, so not to worry! Just keep a close eye on him, maybe use those sleep sacks until he is a little older so you don't have to keep a blanket in his crib.

I took my son to see my massage therapist and it worked wonders on him :-) and i have had friends that have taken their bubs to chiros and found that to work too

I agree with everyone above. I have had all 3 of my kids adjusted regularly since birth and all have been really healthy. It's gentle with a little pushing, the baby can lie on your chest so they are happiest. Get them growing straight right from the beginning.

Ashley, chiropractors DO NOT crack the bones of babies! It isn't like when an adult goes.  It is simple fingerpoint pressure.  Also it holds GREAT value to babies.

My son was adjusted at 6 weeks, and has been adjusted every few months since.  They need it as they learn to walk and are falling down so much.  It can help a ton with ear aches and teething, colic to just name a few!

So i say YES TAKE YOUR BABY IN!!

When my daughter was a baby I took her to the chiropractor. She would cry in pain whenever she was in the car seat, it helped so much! Birth can be traumatic on their tiny bodies. The chiro also helped with ear infections. I totally believe in chiropractic for babies!

I took both y babies when they were little to make sure their spines were developing normally. I have VERY severe scoliosis (curvature of te spine) and we want to make sure to catch it if our kids ever start getting it. The sooner you catch it, the better your chances are of stopping it (mine wasn't discovered until the summer before I went into 9th grade and as a result I will always have back pain when I stand for too long and I had extreme back labor with both my kids). We take them in twice a year for the first 5 years, then 3-4 times a year until they are teenagers. After that it goes down to once a year (the prime time to diagnose it is between 5 and 12). We went to a specialty chiropractor that does only babies and young children, so you might want to look into that as well.

I brought my son at 2 weeks old and he has gone regularly since (he is almost 2 years now) It has helped with constipation, teething, colds and sometimes even crankiness. The stress on the spine from being pushed through the birth canal is one of the biggest in our lives, also a child falls about 2000 times before the age of 2 . . . what better time to give them a healthy start then right from the beginning. Just make sure you feel comfortable, you should go as well so you know what they are doing. And be sure to get some good recommendations from people you know go to a Chiropractor. You can also look for one that specializes in pediatrics if that makes you more comfortable.

GO FOR IT! I took my 4month old daughter when she was only 6weeks old as she had colic and I was prepared to try anything. It really did help a lot. They say that with a C-section (in my case), babies don't go through the natural aligning process trhough the birth canal, so it made sense to me. My son (5) used to sleep only on his tummy, and my 4 month-old fusses and tries to get on her tummy, and as soon as she does, she falls asleep. I do check on her more often though.

Yes, and it has helped SO much. My sister in law is just graduating from chiropractic school and has been checking our son on a weekly basis, it has helped a LOT. If your baby/child ever has an ear infection, have them go to a chiropractor first, it works MUCH better than the meds the dr gives the kids.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your son sleeping on his stomach, our son, as soon as he could turn over, slept on his stomach. Just make sure there is nothing that could cause any issues.

When we first brought our son to the Chiropractor they helped with his crabbiness and were also able to help us make sure he develops correctly. They don't do to babies, little kids what they do to adults, its much more mild, but seems to have good output. Just make sure that the chiropractor you go to sees babies/children on a regular basis. Chiropractors can specialize in different areas, some on youth.

i brought my son in when he was about  a week old on a recomendation from my midwife. it really helped him latch on my left breast better and he cried less after being adjusted. he was all compressed from birth and it was uncomfortable! i was skeptical at first but would seriously recommend it.
