My daughters are 8 months old now, and they had really bad Colic. Gripe Water was the thing that worked best for them. Where I live, it's about $11 a bottle.

Oh -- you gotta remove dairy for 2-3 weeks in order to see a difference.. proteins last that long in our systems.

Try going off of dairy -- reflux is a common cause of colic -- usually gets bad around this age. reflux meds can help, but removing dairy and or soy can solve the problem. the best way to deal with a dairy protein intolerance is to have mom remove all dairy from her diet, that is if they are breastfeeding. If they formula feed it's harder, there are no formulas without dairy or soy -- they just pre-process the proteins. bf is definitely the best way to deal with it.

My twin sons were Dairy protein intolerant. I removed dairy from my diet from 5mos old to 12 mos old when I stopped bf-ing. the change in their behaviors (esp one of my sons) was profound. it truly was like night and day. he began to sleep better, smiled more often, etc. both kids could eat dairy by the time they were 1 and 2 respecrtively.

find out more: look up FPIES in Google.

Are you sure it is colic - it might be Acid reflux - my son used to have terrible stomach cramps and i just took it as being colic and there`s nothing the doc can give me for it, until the doc checked him out and it was acid reflux - my baby was a different child after the medication the doc gave me

I can totally relate, my daughter spent up to 6 hours crying a night, I called the ER in desperation, I tried everything from colic calm bought online, gripe water to mint tea. My mother in law suggested that I supplement water with formula to mint tea with formula. Let me tell you that that is what worked. Just boil a small amount of mint leaves until water has slight color. For some reason it also worked better than camomile. Hope it helps...

Nutramigen is what my daughter was eventually put on! It worked and fast! Wish you the best of luck! They said she was having a hard time digesting the formula, nutramigen is such a fine powder, it's pretty much predigested. Should work wonders for you.

My oldest daughter had colic, not fun to deal with. Her number one thing to calm her was her vibrating bouncy seat. Other tricks I used: rubbing her tummy, vibrating bassinet and the vaccum (for some reason it quieted her down!). If all that failed and I knew nothing was wrong such as her being hungry or needing to be changed, I would walk away for a bit. Alot of times there just isn't anything you can do for them. It helps to walk away, calm your mind and relax, then try again. If they sense you are getting upset it will only make them more upset.

my son is 4 months too. born 8-13-09. he has had stomach issues since birth. we even tried a prescription zantac, but we have found the GRIPE WATER works great. u can buy it at any pharmacy or even some grocery stores i pay like $7 a bottle. its a natural herb remedy. and is safe for any age. also some peppermint in her bottle may be soothing to her stomach as well.

the Happiest Baby on the Block helped me! its great! i went out and made my own recieving blanket that is 45" by 45" but you may need a 60" by 60"...and make sure she doesnt get out of the swaddle the first time because then it will never work! but that really helped me. and you could also try gas drops.
