I recieved the "Baby Einstein: Discover & Play™ Activity Gym" for my daughter as a gift, after about 3 weeks of using it; I noticed that the music stopped working on the star. So I brought it into Wal Mart to see if they could exchange it for a new one. We've had the new one now for only 2 weeks, and it once again has stopped playing music. The lights still seem to be flashing like normal, but there is no sound coming from the star at all. I know this is not due to dead batteries, because I have changed them soo many times! and new ones still dont seem to make the music work. I checked the internet to see if there had been any cases of this happening to other people, but I found nothing. My daughter absolutely love's this toy, so its a real shame that it has stopped working!!

Has anyone else had the same problem with this product?

I have not had the problem. It seems like a real coincidence. My son is almost a year old, and though too big for the mat he still plays with the star and it works like it did a year ago and I have not changed the batteries once yet.

No sorry. I have the exact same gym and my 7 month old still plays under it. That is a shame. You should contact the manufacturer and maybe they can send you the star because I think you will get alot out of having it around. I Velcro it to anything I need to i.e. diaper changing time, car rides, his wrist...he gets a kick out of that one! Good luck and hope you get it replaced!

I had the same thing happen! after returning it for the second time and it happening again I gave up! I was luck though my son seemed to like the flashing of the light with no music!

Call the company and tell them what happened. Usually they will exchange it for you free of charge or maybe have you pay S/H. Have the model number and purchase date when you call. I have done this with many items and not just baby items. The companies want to please their customers so you buy another one of their products. Good luck.

MIne stopped working after only a few weeks. I was too tired/busy to bother exchanging it...

Yes, same thing happened to us. My son (somewhere around 2-3 mos at the time) absolutely loved the music and lights on the sun, and it just stopped working one day a few weeks after we bought it. The new one we exchanged it for hasn't been a problem though and it's been something like 9 months.
