Personally all my kids weaned at 3months. The most important thing is for baby to continue breastfeeding though. You can use baby foods or cereals like Nestle depending on the baby's age. For mums at home it can be easier to prepare the food yourself like blend some pumpkin with stock and vegetables, or pawpaw. Really it doesn't matter what the food type is so long as it's not spiced or salted and it is finely blended that it looks like pap

I have a premmie (3 months early) the Dr had me try him on baby cereal at 4monthes old to see if he would tolerate it. Some babies don;t, and use a spoon it wears them out and they will sleep better. Try to wait on the baby food after you try cereal. Baby food is harder to digest. I know its exciting to get to the next mile stone with feeding however enjoy each step , your baby will be eating table food and running before you know it.

if you can hold out even 1 more month that would be better! some doctors will advice trying a tiny amount of baby rice or porridge at 4 months depending on the size of your baby. How many times a day is your baby feeding?

I work in a Children's Hospital...studies are being carried out on the fenomenal number of children with allergies....they are linking allergies to solids not being introduced early enough (take note everyone who thinks breastfeeding for the first 12 months should be mandatory!!!!!). Feed your baby solids (mashed obviously) as early as possible. This will strengthen the immune system and prepare your child's body for the future. Also I stopped sterilising bottles when my daughter began crawling (8 months). I figured if she's crawling..her hands are touching the floor and she's putting her hands in her mouth (great for the immune system).

Talk to your doctor about it. If you feel that your child is still really hungry and the formula or breastmilk isn't enough.. try putting some Gerber Rice Cereal in the bottle first. Start with a spoonful and work your way up from there. If you already use the rice cereal, definitely talk to your doctor about it. My son is 3 months old and I know he wants baby food but I'm trying to wait as long as I can. He will drink anywhere from 12oz to 16oz in one sitting. Formula and rice cereal aren't doing enough for him.

It's better to try to wait until 6 months because babies fed solids before then have a higher rate of allergies and other problems. Also, breast milk or formula is much more nutritious than any baby food, so if you feed too much solids, you decrease their appetite for milk.
I beastfeed and I dont want her not to dislike the milk or get unuse to it!!!Thank so much!

I started mine out at about four months because he was having way too much formula, I would say, try it...(on a spoon). It took Grant a little to get used to, but now when he sees a spoon...he knows whats coming.

Not if there is another option - you can get formula designed for hungry babies, get your doctor to check your baby is digesting everything properly, if your child is gaining weight then they don't need anything but milk at that age.
I dont want to give her formula and she is gaining weight but she a hungry baby...dont think the milk is af!!!Thankx for the help
