We named our 2 year old son Lorenzo. Pretty rare and everyone who asks his name ALWAYS compliments on how cute and original. Only drawback we get LOTS of Italian/mafia comments. Guess its good were Italian haha.

I have seen Lonnie, Loni, Lonny (all pronounced 'Law-nee' ) used for both sexes. I like my Name - Linda/ Lynda. I also like Lameda, Luinda, Louisa for girls names. My Fathers name is Lloyd which is a strong name for a boy.

I have three boys and the last 2 I wanted the same name, but I was vetoed...:( The 1st didn't look like the name I picked, but it turned out great. My husband's name is Leroy and his father Leo (Leonel). I wanted a "Le" name so I chose Leland. I love the name! I wanted Leland Mitchell. Since couldn't use it maybe someone else can. My kids are named...Brandon Tyler, Gabriel Moses and Christian Edward. I totally went the other way! LOL! I had good intensions. Good luck!

I have a relative (way back) named Lyonus, something different and a boy name. I named my son Levi, not common but I'll warn you every Levi I've know has been a bit anti-social. Laural is also more old fasioned. I drive a school bus and some names are so common, I have 5 Hannah's (all spelled differently) and quite a few Kaylee's and Tyler/Taylors. don't know how you feel about being different. Hope you let us know what you decide. I think its more important than people think, influences the self esteem etc. No pressure!! :)

Landon is nice for a boy, also Larry is cute.

For a girl, I love Laura and wish I would have named my daughter that! Also, it doens't start with L, but Ella is a beautiful name. My name is LeAnna.
