I did a rainforest themed nursery and we had our baby showers that theme too... lots you can do with that... plus some of the items (stuffed animals, etc) were able to be multipurposed that way :)

I had a boy at the end of June. My was the Noah's ark theme from Party City. I know Wal-Mart had the balloon but idk if some have the rest to go with it. I know PC did though. It is not in pastel colors but jewel colors which makes it more masculine. For table toppers, we put pairs of small stuffed animals with balloons tying them together. As far as cost, we got the napkins, one table cloth, the balloon, and a big gift tag that matched (this was turned into my corsage). We then got plates and cups in coordinating colors from Wal-Mart. It literally cut the cost in half and it looked like we bought it all together! Hope ur shower is awesome!

The theme I used for my daughter's baby shower was Sesame Street. You can go to the craft store and purchase the whole Sesame Street characters and use them to make the pins. I also had lollipops made in the Sesame Street characters for party favors. Be different and have the baker change the color of the characters to represent you color theme. Who said Zoe has to be pink or Big Bird has to be blue, have fun.... There plenty of Sesame Street items available in stores that you can purchase and use to decorate for your shower. My daughter really enjoyed her shower although the majority of the things used had to be created, because they do not have anything available in the store for a Sesame Street Shower. i think the Noah's Ark theme is good, lots of cute little animals, my bff threw a shower for me ( a boy shower ) and i got to pick the theme, i picked winnie the pooh(the baby ones). it turned out really cute. his room is in the old time winnie the pooh, so cute, got alot of things from target.good luck and i hope it goes well for you:))

Thank you Judi and Malia... i was just told not to worry about the theme but i know im going to be upset if i see a bunch of pink, purple, yellows hanging around just because im not that girly, and because its a boy.

I have boy/girl twins. My friends threw me a rock around the clock shower. Friends were assigned time slots and requested to bring gifts that would be needed during those times. It was fun to learn about what different friends thought what were necessary items during different times.

First off congrats on your son, I have given many a shower in my day and I agree the it's a boy blue and it's a girl pink are beyond boring lol....but remember boys and men now wear pink, yellow, melon....my own thought is baby animals...looney tunes, disney, noahs ark, pooh, they all have adorable baby animals in them. the new rainforest and jungle stuff is adorable as well....it will come together, if the ppl throwing the shower want some ideas, try Esty and ebay...you would be surprised what you can find just looking at what ppl sell.

Wait.....Noah's Ark is too kiddish for a baby shower? Are you serious? The thing about having a baby is YOU pick the theme for your child until such a time as they can make the choice of a theme themselves. I had jungle animals for my son's theme. He still has jungle animals, but I'm thinking of trading that in for trains as he has a fascination with them.

lol well they are themes for a reason.



they're supposed to evoke the "OOHH A BOY" feeling. get a disco ball if you don't like traditional.

Do you have a room theme picked out yet?? You could base your shower on whatever bedroom theme you have picked. I had a girl and we just went with the pinks and whites and "It's a Girl"!! My sister is having her first this December and I will be throwing her shower for her. I'm thinking fo doing either a zoo theme or monkey's (she's having a boy and she LOVES monkey's). Good luck on whatever you decide, I'm sure it will turn out cute!

hey, my sis -in -law used yellow rubber duckies for mine, and i had a boy. it was easy to find stuff, and cute! float little duckies in the punch, the accessoires are easy to find.
i know your pain!!! everything is for girls, even clothes & bedding. Just get ready for your son to have EVERY outfit that any other baby boy has!! I HATE that, but aside from making his clothes, it is impossible!!

My shower was monkey themed and I was having a girl! But it was what I wanted and now there's girl monkey stuff everywhere. Last month my SIL had a farm animal themed shower for her boy baby. I think its whatever you'd like. I hated the its a girl thing and too much pink so I feel you.
