My 7 month old baby girls nail beds are dipping down at the top and growing slightly outward instead of curving naturally. I believe its my fault cause I havnt been trimming her nails regularly. Can I fix it?

Bring it to the attention of your pediatrician, as it may be indicative of various health issues, including vitamin deficiencies.

Trimming nails doesn't change their growth pattern, unless you are cutting into the nail bed (which I highly doubt you would given she is a baby)...try trimming each corner first and then the middle,...that should make it a little easier. Good Luck

It could just be the way her nails grow. I have 4 children and all their nails grow differently. One of my sons has toenails that curve over the toe and as they grow longer the nail grows down into the skin so I have to trim them regularly so they don't cut down into his skin.

That happened to my daughters toes because I would glance at her toes but never saw the nail because it was so thin and blended in, I just trim them more often now and they are fine.

First thing: Don't worry! At all. Really. Trim them as often as you can. But don't worry. My daughter hated it, so sometimes we'd go two weeks between trims. As for them getting raised, splits, or whatever: again, NO worrying. It happens because they are so soft. As the little one grows, so will her fingernails thicken and harden. Then she'll want them painted!

Not much you can do-my kids nails curved different ways when they were babies-0 one down and one up and one was normal-they are just different that's all-nothing you can do about it but it's not a problem-no worries!

That's just a sign that you definitely need to trim her nails more often. Don't keep letting it go like that b/c it can eventually start digging into the end of your baby's fingers and that will be painful. It happened to my son once and I vowed to keep his trimmed often!

My baby also had her nails growing downward. I got baby clippers and while she was asleep I pulled the nail away from her skin and clipped. I now trim them every other week and they are not growing downwards

She is fine.. If you let your nails grow to long they will eventually curve as well. Just trim them about once a week. If it is to nerve racking to do it yourself ( I was afraid with my first one that i would hurt him) Then i bet there is a grandma or auntie out there that would be willing to go for it.

Not sure id just try triming them alot more often and wait and see.

I trim my 8 month old daughters nails once a week as they grow that fast.
