I'm just wondering how many of you went back to work after having your baby or stayed home with them. Why did you make that decision? Are you happy with it? For those of you that went back to work, who watches the kids? Do you make enough to make it worth going back to work, after child care is paid for? I worked at a daycare before I quit to stay home with my son. I was only working partime, only making maybe $800 a month on a good month. I never did go to college, I wanted to have my family first, but that's another story. Anyway, for babies at my daycare it was $210 a week! Even with a discount I still would've been working just to pay for the daycare, so it wasn't worth it for me to go back to work. Add in all the days I would miss for doc appointments or because he was sick (and they do get sick at daycare!) and I would barely break even! Fortunately for me, my husband makes enough to where we can afford for me to stay home and I love it. I plan on going back to work in a few years (we plan on trying for baby #2 next summer), after the kids are older and I've hopefully gotten some kind of education.
