Bad c-section?

Yes, yes, yes, I thought it was just me until I googled this. I find incredible pain there, as if it was only yesterday that I had it. I've put weight on, which makes it worse, and it pullls on the scar tissue..... it really, really hurts and is debilitating. Doctors don't care.

A little better today. Still weak. Hubby says I am getting my color back and the rings under my eyes aren't as dark. Been on oral diflucan for two days and I think it is helping. Able to eat small meals today and taking a shower wasn't as painful as it has been. Prayers are much appreciated. The incision isn't healing as quickly as I would like. I am trying to keep it dry to keep the yeast from getting worse. The incision is in a skin fold, I have lost 26 of the 33lbs I put on and the skin has folded over the incision site. When I was pregnant, I was on antibiotics longterm to keep from getting a kidney infection, due to reflux from the baby blocking the flow of urine from my kidney to my bladder. They think I had increased yeast in my body at the time of surgery and didn't know it. Once I was opened up, it spread into my adbomen, uterus, etc. Hopefully I will heal soon. I am weak and exhausted.

Make sure that the Dr. gives you all the answers, have your husband go for back up. Did they explain how you got a yeast infection in your incision? I hope all will go well, and you get relief quick. Recovering from a c-section is enough in itself. I will be praying for you and your family, for strength, discernment, and a caring Dr.

Yikes Duise! That is horrible! Doc said I have yeast infection in my incision. Could possibly have yeast in my abdomen causing the severe burning pain. Or could be a torn muscle, or nerve damage. She is consulting another doctor and will call me as soon as she finds anything out. In the mean time, I have been started on an oral treatment for yeast, which will cover the incision, and possibly my abdomen. Prayers please! Hoping they find answers and can at least start the healing process and make me comfortable! Every time I take a shower, I end up in tears and it was all I could do to walk into the doc office from the car. Told hubby I about needed a wheelchair!

Need to see Dr. and preferably another ER. immediately, that is nothing to play around with. Take notes of all of your symptoms. My incision opened up the day after I got home from the hospital (Post c-section stay), which turned into a nightmare from that. I ended up taring my uterus, got an infection, fluid build up in lungs, chest cavity, stomach and pelvis. Spent a week in the Heart and Lung ward of the hospital being misdiagnosed at the ER with cardiomyopathy. Ended up having a tube placed in my stomach and butt to drain fluid, (the fluid in my stomach ended up being the size of a football)for 4 days. Gave me drugs in ER to get the fluid out of my lungs and chest cavity. Was put on aggressive infection medication for 3 weeks after I got out of hospital. Then had to spend 4 months packing my incision to get it close up internally (which thank God for my husband who did most of the packing for me, until he had to go out of town for work), which it eventually did. Now 3 years later I still have a stomach muscle that never fully collapsed, so I walk around looking pregnant most of the time, and I can't lay on my stomach any real length of time without some type of pain. When I inquired about (aside from the fact that I have ahernia) was told that it would take time for me to fully recover months(mind you to recover completely from a c-section takes average 6-9 months anyway). Hope this helps. Also when you get a correct diagnosis and treatment, invest in some red-raspberry tea to help with your recovery from the c-section (wish I would have know and followed through with that 3 years ago when this happened).

my incision was infected and it popped like a bad zit and my pj's were full of brownish fluid but it didn't really cause pain. Sounds like a tear or something but I agree with the other gals--keep going to the ER or drs. till you find out something!!!

I had my csection 1 yr ago and i have way more pain this time around then i did with my first one. BUT what your going through sounds more like a tare or an infection. Go to a different ER if at all possible or demand to see someone else. Please keep us posted

yes, but I had an infection and fluid build-up. The doc told me to lay low, and take it easy. But, my daughters father had other plans, and left us alone. My daughter was a premie, and needed constant care, I think that's how I got fluid and an infection, I overdid it, and was in contant pain. Burning, and could not lay down, too much pain to lay down, so I was sleeping sitting up. And, breastfeeding all night. Then, one day, it hurt really bad, then it burst! I had to get rushed to the e.r., with a towel over my stomach. I am glad you are going to the dr. , you need to take care of yourself right now, and let other people help you. If you don't you will be more sick, and won't be able to care for your children at all. Imagine if you ended up with sepsis......

I had an infection and tore my internal stitches with mine. It sounds very similar to the pain that you are posting about. In around the same place as yours as well. For the infection on the outside after seeing my doc I was put on meds and polysporn on the stitches. For the torn stitches internally icepacks in my undies. It was the only thing that helped at all and let me move. It was by far the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.

Make sure it isnt a tear or something possible cut that shouldn't have been during procedure. Nerve pain with c sections is more so numbness than pain. It can be pain but to be that severe? That is hard to believe it would just be nerves. It does sound like an infection and I would demand lab work, x rays etc. AGAIN!

Thanks everyone, just took a shower and thought the burning pain would make me pass out. Not bad if I am sitting or laying down. One spot in my abdomen, close to my hip bone, burns and becomes very painful with standing, walking, moving. They did labwork, a sonogram, and a urine sample with no results. Nerve pain maybe? I am seeing someone monday about this annoying rash. She is a good nurse practitioner and I like her alot, so hopefully she will be more helpful.

If that ER said nothing is wrong, just go to another. Doesn't sound like just yeast to me. I remember with mine I had doubling over pain and it was a bladder infection. But it could be so many things! Continue to see doctors until problem is resolved. Do not go without answers and still be in pain.

what you have going on sounds serious! If he won't see you, Id be changing my doctor after this! Go to the ER immediately and don't play around with this. I am a EMT. Things like this, can start out simple and become serious or just flat out be serious from the beginning. Go! Even if you have to take the kids. A nurse will sit with them while you get tests ran. I've done it.

I had my c-section get infected it was horrible!!!! I was in severe pain when moving at all and I had a golf ball sized lump on the incision the home nurse told me it was normal and nothing to worry about then I started with a fever my mom told me that was probably because I stopped breast feeding and then I was standing to dishes and felt a rumbling along the incision and then it started leaking the most foul smelling fluid....it was the worst. My boyfriend took me to the er they started ivs then transferred me to another hospital for surgery! And after that I was on a wound vac for a.month. hopefully this is not the problem your having because no one.should have to go through that especially with children to take care!!! Hope everything works out for you feel better!!

Just abdominal pain, burning inside my abdomen, tends to get worse with movement. Starts burning very badly when I walk or stand. No fever, but chilled a couple of times. My hubby thinks I have yeast inside my abdomen. Hopefully the diflucan pill I took will help that and I am putting monistat on the outside, but not much relief so far!

if it's yeast how about putting some canesten or monistat cream on the incision site? that should help it... IF it's yeast that is.... I'm so sorry for you, I can't believe nobody is taking you seriously! Do you have a fever or any other symptoms of infection except of directly at the site?

Oh my God, Kristian I am so sorry! I can tell just from reading this you are really sick and no one is doing anything! Just try to take it really easy and drink lots of water. Gosh, I hope you feel better soon! Being sick after delivery sucks. :(

I got diflucan three days ago for smelly vaginal discharge, then the next day this rash shows up. They didn't give me anything for the rash at the ER, but said the diflucan should help IF it's yeast. IF? WTH? I made an appointment with the nurse practicioner monday at my OB office since my doc is out next week. Hopefully I can hang in there and nothing gets worse until then.

Went to the ER, said they could find nothing wrong, other than the rash that seemed to be a yeast infection. They didn't even culture the rash to see what it was! The rash is burning, my insides are burning. They told me" maybe it's post-partum depression. That can cause real pain". You docs need to pull your heads out of your asses! I am so frustrated, want to cry, and now I think I really am depressed!

Okay, if you have a visible rash on your incision site just imagine what it looks like underneath the skin. If you have to call an ambulance. You need to be in the hospital.

if possible call your hubby to come home from work and get to the hospital. If it's an infection it needs to be treated ASAP. the longer you wait the higher chances of the infection spreading and you becoming septic! You need to put yourself and your health first in this situation! Your kids need you

Ugh, cant get there tonight. Hubby at work, and I have no family close, and no one to watch the kids tonight. Noticed this evening that there is a rash on my incision, looks like yeast. I know this cause I used to work as an RN, but it has been years because I have been home with the kids. Has to wait until morning.

I didn't, but my best friend did after her first emergency c-section. Her son was about 4 weeks old (I think? It's been 2.5 years now) when she was readmitted into the hospital w/ an infection. It took her another month before she started to get back to normal.

Get your butt to the ER now if possible.
