Hi, me too!!! All of the above, my husband is AF and PD so a lot of alone time.

I just moved here this June.I live on the main base and am a. 31 stay at home mom of two kids 8 and 10. I don't know anyone here either and it is very lonely. I just want someone I can grab a coffee with or watch a movie every now and then.I miss those types of things.

Yeah...they do that at first because they are used to being on their back. A few minutes a day is a good start. I had a play mat for my baby and toys, but I learned if I put more than one toy down she would get over stimulated and freak out. I just started her off a few minutes a day, a couple times a day until she was more comfortable.

That would be awesome! Jake will be about 3 months by the time we get there! I try to put him on his tummy for a few minutes everyday but he gets so mad it doesn't last very long!! ha

Angel...one of the activities I want to start is mommy and me tummy time. So mommies of new babies can meet other new mommies...and so they can learn about tummy time and getting baby started early. I started my daughter doing tummy time early and by 6 weeks she was rolling over! Not all babies will do that, but it's very good strength exercise for them :)...gets those neck muscles nice and strong!

It is definitely not easy making friends when you stay home, especially when the little ones are young. I'm talking to the YMCA here to get some more mommyand me classes hopefully....I will keep in touch and let you know if I get them to do any. I am enrolling my munchkin in gymnastics next month....she is finally old enough! I swear my only social time right now is earthier on Facebook, going to target or going to the commissary.

Finally!!! I am living on base here at Barksdale ( Libery Heights ) stay at home mom, 20 years old with an 8 month old baby girl. I have been here for months and im going crazy with no friends!! I have gone on meet up.com and there are no groups i can find in my area.. SO please, msg me or whatever (new to this site). I'd love to chat! Had made 1 friend here but she kinda went off the deep end and left lol. Another thing is my husband has to take the car for work, so i am even more lonely and stuck at home! I havent found much to do around here for the little time my husband isnt working..

Thank you! We are wanting to live off base eventually but didn't want to get a house til we can get down there and familiar with the area! We live in Illinois now but are from southern Ohio. I miss everyone too and now we are moving even further away so we will be going home even less. I'm a stay at home right now too I just had Jake last month and didn't work while I was pregnant and as bad as I want to its not easy to meet people when you stay at home and idk how i feel about going to meetings and stuff to meet new people...ha but it does seem like there is plenty of things to do in the area!(:

We live off base...so I can't say if on base is good or not. If you do live off base, I highly suggest the south part of Bossier. The north part has way too much traffic. We live off Barksdale Blvd and it only takes about 7 or 8 minutes to get to base. But you don't want to live too close to base, its not a good area. If you need some help on that, I can give you the number to our realtor. We rent and she found this place for us. I really like our neighborhood. It is quiet, we live next to a sheriff, and there are lots of families and military that live here. Plus it is close to the shopping in Shreveport (where they have a big target and other shops), and not too far from the Boardwalk, which is the best mall in the area. The base is nice too. There is a museum, nice big commissary, a couple pools, and more.

We came from So Cal....so....in comparison, its a HUGE change. I miss the beach, the Cali weather and all the things to do in So Cal. Mostly, I miss family and friends. I don't have friends here yet so its tough. This is our first PCS, so its just adjusting. I think living any where is what you make of it. I'm a stay at home mom for the first time...and I wish I had a buddy to go explore with.

I'm at Scott and I feel the same way! I've been here almost a year and have no friends. We just had a little boy and found out we are going to Barksdale in September and I'm hoping that its not the same!! It gets pretty lonely with no friends!

Okay...now that I made an account...I just joined this site for the same reasons. I am totally lonely. We got stationed here in February and I don't have any friends either (the one I had is being moved to Germany). I have a 17 month old daughter...I stay home with her for now. The adjustment has been really hard on me, cause I don't have a support group here at all. So I joined looking for other moms in the area who need friends too. :) Contact me if you want to chat! :)

Have you tried meetup.com They might have some groups in your area. I can't help sorry, I'm on the other side of the world :-)
