We have a big book of Dora the Explorer stories. Our son LOVES them. He's 2.5 I swear we've been reading it the past 100 night in a row!!! It good though because it's a great nighttime routine and he's actually learning spanish (I put him down for a nap and he said buenas noches mommy) I love it.

At bedtime we usually do 3 books. I let him pick out of his full bookshelf, so it varies. He likes Winnie the Pooh stories, or Robert Munsch stories a lot!

It depends on age.. My son is a fan of "where's the green sheep"... "cuddle" any spot books.. I find if they are short have a repitition about them then they become a hit... My daughter liked "bears in the night" "hairy mcleary" and "slinky malinki".. it can be nursery rhymes and they are happy too... when they know the story well and can say the story by themselves that is fun and really cute
