My son is 6 years old and frequently wets the bed. I restrict what he drinks in the evening [no drinks within a couple hours of bed time] and I also make sure he uses the bathroom before I tuck him in but he still wets the bed. Its embarrassing for him because he cant go to sleep overs like his friends do. [Well he could, but hes embarrassed because he has to wear a 'diaper'] Im not sure what else I can do. I guess talk to his doctor?? But what can a doctor do for bed wetting? Anyone else have this problem with their child?

definately have the same problem...with my almost 8 year old. in fact she wears good nites every night. we have been to the doctor and were told that her bladder muscles are still a little weak (completely normal) and that she sleeps deep enough that even when she knows she has to go she cant wake herself up to go. it will go away in time. be patient and the sleepovers can still happen. i just pack a good nites in her bag, and when she gets ready to sleep she just slips them on in the bathroom when she puts her jammies on...no need to advertise and no trouble. good luck

Yes, talk to his doctor. It's still in the normal range for bedwetting, and it's obviously not intentional, but it can be a symptom of a problem with the kidneys or bladder. My son is 8 and JUST stopped wetting the bed; at sleepovers, he'd put on a Good Nights pullup and it has honestly never been an issue - his friends never so much as commented on it.
