My son is 7 weeks old and wants a 6 oz bottle every 1-2 hours (usually on the shorter end). Anybody else have a similar situation? I can't get a firm answer from my doc and i don't really want to resort to putting cereal in his bottle, but i don't know how many more weeks i can function on 2-3 hours of sleep a day.

My daughter is 5 weeks old and on stage 2 cow & gate. She takes 5/6 oz then looks for more an hour and a half to 2 hours later. She still only goes 3/4 hours at night occasionally 5 but not often. Any ideas on what we could do?

my first son was a bit of a piggy too but i think he had longer between feeds and was sleeping though most nights after a week old. however he did need to move onto the formula for hungier babies after the first tin of milk was finished. again this didnt last long we ended up having to start with giving a bit of baby rice by the time he reached 11 weeks old because he was hungry.shortly after this he moved up to the next stage milk a friend of mine started at 8weeks with solids as she was a really hungry baby. sometimes changing the brand of milk helps too, but definatly move up to the next. stage, the health proffessionals may not like it much but its your sanity you're saving!!! always do what you think is right for you and your child. (ps i have5)

My son was the same, I tried the 2nd stage of formula milk ( for hungrier babies ) and that worked for a while, he never ever went 4 hrs in between a feed and so I was feeding him every 3 hrs. He's now 5 months old and on 3 meals a day! Lil piggy! Try holding off the cereal in a bottle. He may be going through a growth spurt in which case it's quite normal for him to be that little bit extra hungry. A baby will take as much as it want's, if he didn't want it he wont take it ( Or it'll end up all over you whilst winding him! ) Hope that helps :-)
