Binding vs. "Loosening" foods for baby

Just thought I would share something I learned yesterday from my Ped's office. My 5 month old has been eating solids for about 3-4 weeks and became stopped up, about 3 days with no dirty diaper.
In my concern to avoid feeding fruit first, I inadvertently stopped up my baby by feeding too much binding foods together (Rice and sweet potato).

Binding: Rice Cereal, Bananas, Applesauce, and Sweet potato
Non-binding: Pears, Plums, Peaches, Spinach and Oatmeal

The nurse said not to avoid the "binding" foods, but to make sure baby's DAILY diet is balanced between the two categories.

Also, breastfed babies (like mind) can get stopped up easier because they are not used to passing more formed stools, and havent figured out how yet.

Hope this helps someone avoid making the mistake I did!
