How long do I have to be on the mini-pill birth control before I can begin having intercourse? Usually for other types it is a month. And do I have to wait till my first period after having my baby to start it? I'm almost 2 months after giving birth and need to begin it. I think that the mini-pill is different than the normal birth control but I'm not sure. Can anyone help?

The mini-pill is less effective so I would definately not be having intercourse around your ovulation time. Not sure how long to wait, I think it's a month like the regular pill.

i just got back on the mini pill too, i asked my doc when to start it as i dont have my period back yet and he said now it doesntmatter aslong as you take the pill at exactly the same time everyday.
