One year I hosted a cowboy party.  As the guest arrived they decorated brown paper grocery bags that had been cut into a vest shape and used it for their costume.  I gave each a necklace of yarn with a big star cutout with their name on it for their sheriff's badge and we played roping games with inexpensive jump ropes and cowboy straw hats provided the thing for relay games of dress up. I picked up everything at a local party supply and saved so much.  No need to purchase goody bags because every child went home with a costume, badge, rope and hat...I spent the extra on pony rides for everyone in my back yard!  They loved it!.

Musical chairs is always a good one. Pass the parcel is fun (putting a sticker they can keep after every layer of paper allows more children to "win") and even musical statues. Maybe instead of what's the time mr wolf you can call it what's the time spiderman. There is even a balloon race where you blow up a balloon per child (or team) and they race from point A to point B with the balloon between their knees. Hope this helps and remember to have fun and have atleast one person helping you (it's hard to play games and get food ready when there is just you).
