How long do you normally have post partem beeding after a csection? I only bled for about 4 weeks after my daughter was born (vaginal delivery) but im still bleeding 8 weeks after my csection. And its blood clots and stuff too not just blood like a period. Should i be concerned its lasting so long? At my 4 week check up my dr told me the blood clots should be done by then and the bleeding should be over by 6 weeks.

My son is over a month old. I'm still bleeding. It is heavy some days and light others with blood clots. What happened to you?

I bled up to 8-10 weeks or longer I thought something was wrong so I went in to my doctor and wasnt to concerned everyone is different. She put me on the pill and that stopped the bleeding and I had normal periods, then when I went off of the pill, I started up again for 2 -3 weeks and know everything seems to be back to normal. Hope everything works for you !

I am breastfeeding my twins, i didnt know that could cause you to bleed longer tho, as i fed my daughter for 16 months and it didnt effect anything

like i said before i bleed for a long time 9 week but i breastfeed my son till he was 10 months old

My doctor told me that I would bleed as long as I was nursing. That seemed odd to me, but as soon as I quit pumping (baby couldn't nurse due to Downs) I quit bleeding. At 2 months.

For me I bled for about 6 weeks and then went right into my period RIGHT away. I was clotting a little bit and called my doc, he told me as long as it's not bigger or as big as a golf ball then it was ok. But just to be safe I would absolutely make a checkup appointment. If for nothing else for peace of mind.

you should see your doctor. If you get an infection in your uterus it can be very serious can even cause you to become infertile or even life threatening. I had one after bleeding for a long time when a blood clot stayed in my uterus and nearly had to had a complete hysterectomy, luckily the infection cleared.

If it helps any, you're not alone... I'm 14 weeks into mommihood after a c-section, and I'm still bleeding like I had it a week ago.. I know it's not healthy, but my doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned...

when u had my son(c-section) i bleed for 9 weeks stopped for i think a for a week then bleed for another week..that last week must have been my period becuase i didn't bleed for another 3 weeks

it took me about 6 weeks to stop bleeding and i was quite heavy up to that point, in hospital i was told that if the clots were the size of a 50p then i needed to let them know but if they were smaller than not to worry cos sometimes it can be pieces of placenta so they need to be checked speak to your GP just for you own piece of mind - gud luck xx

I think everyone is different. I bled for about a month or more with blood clots. I thought it was never going to stop but it did. If it looks abnormal, contact your physician right away.

I didn't start bleeding until 5 weeks PP. Then I bled for what seemed like forever! I talked to my doctor about it & she said it was normal. I would say I bled for about 6 to 8 weeks. I'm still spotting and I'm 14 weeks PP. I also had a Mirena IUD put in at 6 weeks PP.

You might want to be test for Von Willebronn's disease (hemophalia in females) usually shows up after having children.

I noticed after my section I bled heavier the first two weeks if I was doing too much activity. If you are still clotting 4 weeks later that seems unusual. It makes me question is there still a piece of placenta in the uterus? I would definitely call the doctor office or the ladies on the post postpartum floor if you delivered in a hospital.

I bled steadily for a month and then spotted for a week after that... As most of the other ladies have mentioned, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to at least call you dr. and let them know what's going on.

i stopped bleeding all together at 6 weeks so i think you should probably call your doctor just to make sure everything is ok..

I would call and ask. If it has an odor or is an odd color, or if you are bleeding heavily, definately go to the doctor.

I had a cesection with both of my boys and it was just like a period but lasted like a couple of weeks. I never had blood clots or anything like that. I would give your doctor a call and see what he said. I hope it works out

i bled way less after all my c sections than i did with the natural births , so yes definately i would call it cause for concern

I bled good for about 4 weeks, it cooled off for a week, then I bled again, I am assuming that was my first period. But if the clots are more than golf ball size you need to go in to your Dr.

I would call for sure, especially if you are still passing clots or if there is any foul odor.
