bleeding at 13 weeks pregnant!!!

Hi ladies,



just needed a little advice,



i have just been to the loo and wiped myself and there was fresh red blood, i plan on going back in half an hour or so to see if it is still there..



should i go to A&E or has anyone had anything similar to this?

thanks ladies,

the bleeding did stop, it was only once after i wiped after having a wee... but it was heavy, but no clots..
i have been feeling better today and no sign of anything and no pains either.. :)

i will call the hospital on monday just to make sure..

I had really heavy bleeding with both of my girls early in the pregnancies (5 weeks with my 1st and 10 weeks with my 2nd), bad enough I thought I was miscarrying - I did go to the emergency (A&E) and was checked out. They will usually tell you that unless you are 22+ weeks they will typically not be able to do anything, but you can be examined to see if the bleeding is coming from a closed cervix (as mine was) - if it is then it is just implantation bleeding (which can occur anywhere up to about 10 weeks or so) and you will likely be okay.
I would still suggest going in, for peace of mind if nothing else. They will probably suggest doing an ultrasound to check to see that the baby is still in the placenta, etc, so you will have positive proof that you are not miscarrying if that is the case.

at 13 weeks i'd go immediately to the doc. At 6-9 weeks, i'd sit at home and wait to see what happens.



there is a certain period of time (like 5-9 weeks or so) where the gestational sac is still attaching itself to the uterine wall one part at a time, so a blood vessel can lose some blood during this process, accounting for some bleeding... that's how my gynocologist explained it.

I bled at 8 weeks with both my pregnancies so badly I was convinced I had a M/C and didn't. I still went to the ER (emergency room here in the U.S.) to be sure. I would if I were you.

I would not take any chances and go see a doctor immediately.
