Bottle to Sippy cup?

soft top sippy cups and stop giving bottles. you have to cut out the bottles. she will drink from the sippy cup when she wants something to drink. it may take a little but all kids are stubborn and you just have to make sure they give in before you do

My daughter had trouble with the sippy cup as well. She would never tip it enough so i got her used to drinking out of a straw instead.

I introduced my son to a sippy cup at 6 months with water and sometimes a little juice. He took to it right away. I would offer him his sippy at snacks and then at 9 months he would also get it at lunch time with formula. I gradually started giving it to him more often throughout the day. By 11 months old he was only getting a bottle at night before bed and by the time he turned 1 he only got his sippy and has no desire to drink from a bottle. I am also an infant teacher and transitioned 9 other babies from bottle to sippy. Some were harder then others but all of them were drinking soley from sippy cups before they turned one while they were in my care which was 8-10hrs out of the day 5 days a week. Put the cup infront of them sometimes you have to help them, sometimes you just have to set it there and eventually they get it especially if they know you are not going to give in and give them their bottles. As long as they are still having wet diapers they will be just fine if they don't always drink it everytime it is offered to them. Soft tip cups are a got transition from bottle to sippy. My favorite was the Nuk. Gerber makes a sippy cup that looks like a bottle but it has removable handles and the soft top can be put on any of their nuk bottles. Good luck and just be strong and don't give in.

Hi Caryn, Have you tried sitting on the floor with her with two sippy cups (one for you & one for her). Have quite a few toys around you both & while you're both playing try taking a sip from one of them, just leave the other in front of her, dont say anything & dont make a big deal out of it, she may just pick it up & mimic you. Worth a try. Good luck.

I agree throw away the bottles my youngest had a hard time turning the bottle over until i couldnt handle it anymore because of his teeth I threw ALL bottles away and bought the NUK cups he enjoys them hes 13 months so I now introduced him to Regular cuos and the sippy with the hard nipple he seems to be doing well

I always started out the day with a sippy cup when I was incorporating the sippy cup into my son's routine. Then he would get a bottle before nap and bedtime but a sippy cup at all meals. I would act like I was drinking out of it to get him interested sometimes, but I never had a real difficult time to get him to take the sippy. She may not be ready but give her the choice as much as possible. Best of Luck!

it depends on the baby. my son is 2 and he started using a sippy cup at 9m but my daughter is 11month and has shown little interest. theres really no rush and she'll do it when shes ready. maybe shes not co-ordinated enough or still likes the comfort of the bottle. they all develop at diffrent rates so just because all the other babies may be off the bottle, doesnt mean she should be!

It's true that the best and fast wasy to do it. It worked great for me

I gave my little one the sippy that look like a bottle and want from that. But he has any Occupational therapy that come to, she just it around they will pick it up and start to use it. I got him off the bottle at 8 months.

They really start that when they are ready. try a nibbie top it is soft like a nipple and sometimes that helps them cross over

Any help would be great, I can't get my little one to use a sippy cup or even drink juice....My little one is 9 months old (almost)
