I am not 24 weeks pregnant and Iam getting braxton hicks a lot.

With in a hour I have had about 5 to 7 contractions.

It makes me worried because my Dr told me I have about 20 % change of having my baby early because my first son can 2 weeks early then my second came a month early.

How often did you have braxton hicks within a hour and do you think I should be worried??

Braxton hicks feel the same as any other contraction.. The way to know between true labor and false labor is this. False labor goes away with rest, warm bath.. and walking. Walking is the biggest tell tale sign of false labor. True labor contractions will not go away while you walk, they will get worse due to gravity pulling the baby down.. but false labor contractions do go away with walking.

I Had Them For 4 to 5 hrs Everynite. From 6Mo's on. I Would Go To The Hospital Every Nite. My Daughter Was Two Wks Late. But She Was My 1st. The Dr Told U Call If You Have Questions & That Is What They Are Paided For. Trust Me They Have Heared Worse Then This Befor. Just Don't worry & Relax.

See i was 29wks and i had my son. I thought they were Braxton Hicks but when i went to the hospital to check i was in real labor. But everyone is not the same. but to be safe i would call the doctor. It never hurt to be safe.

I had wicked Braxton Hicks Contractions early on in both of my pregnancy's, I use to get them all night long, I seriously feel your pain!! If your not bleeding you should be ok. I found that intercourse and walking around alot triggered them. Try taking some Tylenol, it's safe for you and the baby and will take the edge of so you can be comfortable and rest. Good luck :)

i have had braxton hicks severly since about 20 weeks to. i had them so bad that i was in the hospital constantly thinking i was in labour.im about 38 weeks now and still no baby. they thought my baby was going to come early to. i wouldnt be worried, actually being stressed out is the worst thing you could do and that could put you into labour wich at 20 weeks you defenently dont want.

all my luck to you and i hope this helps

If they are steady and with increasing intensity, go to the hospital to get checked for labor. Usually BH are more of a constant pain than contractions. Contractions come and go. They usually get worse with each pregnancy because your body knows to prepare itself so being that this is your 3rd pregnancy, they could be pretty intense. But if you feel like you are in labor, go get checked just in case.

I wouldn't worry about it unless they are really consistent. Typically when I have BH it is for an hour or so, but then tapers off. Good luck with your little one!

I agree with Julie. There is no harm in calling the doctor it they do not go away when you change activities or rest. Since your other children came early I would call when they don't go away and an hour has passed.

As long as they don't get stronger, you should be fine, but when in doubt, call your doc. That is what they're there for. Personally, I didn't have them with my first, but I did with my second. My doc said my body was just remembering what it was going to have to do (muscle memory).

The rule I heard is that if you have 4 contractions in an hour and they don't stop by resting if you moving, or moving if your resting, then call the doctor. It never hurts to call and check.

I use to get them so bad I thought I was in labor they came fast and strong, I went to the doc almost every other day it seemed and he told me the baby is fine I am fine and there is no complations so don't worry everything is fine.... So it sounds normal what u are feeling..
