I live in a small town and the word bully is all over the place. They are haveing classes at school about it tv shows books. I mean really its all over the place. I have 3 kids all are diffrent as they should be. My son is labeld a bully by so many. He has issues with speech and I am trying to figure out why he gets angry. Yet is he a bully.... So many people think and preach about the victum but I have to say that all in all my son is the victum.... He has brain damage and seziures and has so many other things going on that no one knows about. DO they care I dont know I do know the few people oout side of my personal life look at me like I am covering up his nasty moods. He is 8 and tomarrow is his forst birthday party that isnt family. I wish tehre was more out there about looking behind the bully reach out befriend them not out cast them make them feel less wanted so they ackted out more. I was the fat poor kid in the big city and people hurt my feeling all the time so I am not saying to not stop the bullying I am just wishing that people would stop looking at my son like he is a freak and a bad boy

Tracey thank you very very much that was great input and I have to say that in the long run bully info is good I am just overwelmbed and being mommy bear. The school I am really blessed with has a great couseler and I will bring up what you said thank you again

I know how you feel. My son is like that also. He is not a bully, sometimes he fights with other kids, but I think he does that because people bully him also. I am currently looking into getting him into a special class.

Jennifer, I think it's great that your schools are doing anti-bully stuff - I wish more schools would! But now it is your turn. If you son is always being cast as the bully then your sons school needs to definitely get in there and do more 'inclusion' teaching with their students - teaching them about and how to interact with kids with special needs like autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, immigrant kids, downs syndrome kids and even kids with brain injuries. You and you son might have to come forward and tell people about his difficulties, because you are right - he should not be victimized and always cast as the bully when he has behaviors that are beyond his control. As I said, I think it is great they are doing anti-bullying stuff, but how are these kids from a small down going to function when they leave their nest if the school has not bothered to teach them about inclusion too?

so very very true. My son has a bully contract and I am sure the Mother of the child that was on the other side of this has no clue that my son is working on so many things and has growen and come so far. I also would love to know what is going on and be able to help the situation let the other MOthers know that my hosue and family are no mean nasty people my son just has brain damage and is over coming alot. Thank you for haveing the insight to know that there is always a reason:)

Kids who act the bully role do so for a reason, and need as much help as the kids they bully. It is always critical to learn the why behind the behaviors we are attempting to end. If we attempt to end the behavior without know the why behind it, we often make things worse.
