My son just had a huge not so solid and not too runny burgany poop. Right away I went through my mind what he had eaten since his morning poop and I really cant think of anything red/pink . . .Has anyone ever had this problem before that was caused by dye?

Certain beverages can cause color changes in poop. I wondered what was causing my daughter's to be a vivid kelly green. It turned out to be from several bottles of blue sports drink she'd consumed throughout a softball tournament on a very hot day. Whew!!!

froot loops give poop bright green colour. considering there is not that much green in the box. (it took a while to figure that one out for me) so yes the dyes in food most definately cause coloured poops ;)

Check his art supplies to see if anything red is missing. It's usually the culprit.
