Okay, I can't be the only mom that is busy. My family likes to eat dinner together around the dinner table. But we are doing extra activities 3 nights a week. We get in late and dinner is hard to come by. I am trying get dinner but I have no quick, easy, and very healthy meal ideas. Please help me I need meal ideas. I am also trying to lose the extra baby weight and I want to keep giving my kids very healthy meals. I have a baby, a toddler, and 2 school age kids that I want to teach good eating habits and I need a little help with that . Thank you.

The slow cooker was my best friend when I was working. Just throw some potatos, carrots, and meat into it and done. You can also do lot of other things too. But my husband went on a diet and I was sick of the same old stuff so I found these rice noodles. They are awesome, you boil water in the kettle add them to the water in a bowl and weight 5 minutes and Done. I put them with some veggies left over meat and peanut sauce (2 tbs peanut butter, 2 tbs soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, 1 tbs garlic power and 1 tbs brown sugar in a bowl put into microwave for 3 minutes and pour over) I have also done it with other sweet and sour sauces too. They are great. In Canada you can get them at the dollar store and to serve 5 people you only need 1/3 of a package.

Salad bags, grilled chicken (we use a George Formean grill), nuke some veggies; takes 15 minutes max. I've got a 5 year old and 2.5 year old for whom this is the go to meal. We also have macaroni noodles with a good marinara sauce and a side of veggies or salad pretty regularly.

Also, leftovers from a previous night's dinner with some veggies added are always a good quick option. It's not difficult to make extra. You can also do stuff in a crock pot or make up batches of soup on the weekend.

The biggest time suck in the kitchen is prepping. Figure out a time of the week that works best for you and do most of your prep for the week then. Also, get the school age kids involved with prep. It may even get them to try more of the healthy stuff.

Check out the Healthy Food for Kids group in CoM, those ladies have lots of advice and many of the same questions or problems. I think there is also a recipe swap in here too. Hope this helps.

Weekends, if you have the time. Work as a family to make dinner for the week. Store them in the freezer.

i highly recommend you invest in a slow cooker if you don't already have one...if you're on facebook go to the group called slow cooker recipies - hundreds of great ideas (many can be adapted if you don't have a cooker). i have tried many of them myself and they're quick to get ready, and delicious. hth
