I've been feeding my 6 month old solid foods for about a month now. I've been giving him one new food every 2-3 days to check for allergies, as recommended. Since he's been eating the solid food, his poop has been changing: it went from kinda loose from just breastfeeding to kinda pasty when he first started the solids and now it's kind of like how grown up poop is (gross, I know, sorry!). But I've noticed for the past few days he's only been going a little a few times a day instead of one big load once a day, and the little bit is kinda taking the shape of his butt, lol! But I also notice that he's kind of red where the poop is and this happened around the same time I introduced a new food (lima beans). I'm thinking his skin may just be irritated by the poop, because lima beans aren't acidic, I don't see how they would cause a reaction. And he's fine otherwise. I change him about every 2 hours and check his diaper whenever I hear him grunting or "tooting" a lot so it's not like he sits in a dirty diaper all day. And I do put stuff on him when he goes down for the night since he sleeps through the night. What do y'all think: is his skin just irritated or could it be a reaction to something he's eating?
