Can I use baby vicks on my 3 month old?

My daughter is 2 years old and has a bad cough and at night her breathing sounds wheezy. I don't have a humidifier or a vaporizer I have a respirator her doctor gave to her. Can i use that instead? Thank you :)

Baby vicks should be fine, not the regular vicks. also you can give the baby a warm bath with vapor bath that they make for babies, you can usually find it in the baby isle at the store. i use it for my daughter when she's congested.

My daughter is about to be 3mnths old on da 29th and she is very fussy and her nose sounds very stuffy an i dnt hve no infant vicks bout the adult vicks idk wat to do

Yes u cause the vicks BabyRub.(make Sure the label says Baby Rub. this is the vicks for Babies.)Its in a blue container with a pink lid.) on your baby it is specailly made for babies 3 mons and older. and u can also give your baby a bath in Johnson soothing Vapor bath.it is wonderful.I suggest to give ur baby a warm bath in this and use the baby rub when you get him out of the bath. Rub his chest,back and feet(put socks on his feet if it isn't in a sleeper.I always used sleepers. o make sure u wash it off when he gets up the next day. in the rub. I have been doing this for 4years and have 3 children. and I always do these things for about 3 days.Also keep using the vaporizer.try these few things and see if you see a change in your baby.Let me know if this works. If your baby doesn't seem to be gettin any better I would take him back to the DR. It is pretty normal for babies to get sick this time of the year. Good luck to you.

I would check with your pediatrician and if he hasn't gotten better in a couple of days I would call them again. It's very easy for babies to become oxygen deprived and we wouldn't even know. Please call them and check. Better safe than sorry.

I have used baby vicks on my 3 month old but only after putting a layer of vaseline on her skin to protect from irritants. Still works

I also use the vapo rub on the bottoms of my kids feet, coat the bottoom of the foot and put socks on.. it helps..

If you want to use Vicks, I would recommend rubbing it on his FEET and putting socks on. It works in a reflexology way. Definitely check with your doctor though.

What I found interesting is I was told to put vicks on the bottom of thier feet with socks and it really works!!!!

Thanks mom's, I was at the doctors Oct.30 and i told the doc he is not getting better he wants me to waite until Nov.22, but my son has had this since the beginning of Oct. I will take everyones advice and see how it plays out. Thanks again

If you are worried you can use Tea Tree Oil in a humidifier in the babies room.

LOL, Thanks Karrington, I just looked it up too, 3 months is fine for the BABY rub. It's just the regular that's no good for babies. My mistake, sorry.

Definitely ask your doctor. From what I've heard and read, it can cause breathing problems for young babies. It can be too strong and an irritant which will then in turn cause your child to produce more mucus, defeating the purpose. I think this is one of those questions best put to your doctor. I would hold off until the morning and call them or call your local hospital tonight if it's too bad and ask them, they should be able to help you with the question. Good luck!

i do no know why this works but it does.. rub vicks on the bottom of feet - message in and put on socks.. it really helps with the coughing.

I ese the baby vicks n rub it on my sons chest 2 reduce his cough. It works on him. by the way my son is 11 month n i have been using that method since he was 4 month old.

Check the back of the container but I think it is for 6 months or older. Their skin is extremely sensitive at that age.When our son was sick we put Vicks liquid drops in the vaporizer and let it run all night in his room. It made a huge difference. Keep his nose clear, use lots of saline drops to keep everything loose in his nose to clean it. They also sell a Vicks scent for the room that plugs into the wall and releases vapors in the air. Other option that worked for us is we let him sleep elevated in his bouncy seat instead of his crib. He could breathe and sleep much better. After 2 days of doing the vaporizer with vicks in it, saline drops in nose/cleaning out, and elevated sleeping he was feeling much better. But if he doesn't get better in a few days take him back to the pedi so that bronchitis doesn't develop.

I too have a 3 month old and her pediatrician says yes...she was sick a few weeks ago and i rubbed a little baby vicks on her chest, neck and back and it cleared her right up!!!

Yes. When did you take him last? If it has been a day or so you may want to call them again. He should be improving if he is on inhalers.
