Usually I get my periods on time or up to 5 days late on average. They usually last 4-5 days and are heavy for the first 2-3 days or so. This month I got my period 4 days late, but it seems I have only had it for about a day and a half and now (it was kind of heavy for maybe a day) i'm just spotting to almost nothing. Has anyone ever experienced this before or know what it could be?

i'm 31 i have 2 kids and my tubes are tied im a normal 28 day cycle and last for 6 days, last month i had weird symptoms and my period showed up on day 26 of my cycle and ended what would have been day 28 then my breast hurt for like the entire month after that cycle and looked fuller im now on day 26 of the next cycle and it started early again, i dont know what it will be like this time because today has been reduced to day 1, what is going on with me, docs have ran tests hormones normal ,negative pregnancy, im so at a loss right now

I too am getting unusual periods. Last months was 6 days late (the previous couple of mths were spot on 29 days - my usual cycle prior to1st and 2nd baby- while the months before that was 28-32 day cycles). Then this month it was like 10 days late. I have only ever been more than 3 days late once when not pregnant.
I have done pregnancy tests the last couple of times I was "late" and both home tests were negative. Even the one I had done at the doctors was negative too. The last two "late" periods are very much normal looking type periods and last the usual amount of time and are the usual "heaviness"....
I don't know what is going on with my body! I feel hungry a lot of the time too (even though I have just eaten a good sized meal). I also feel tired a lot too recently (ok, it could be also cause of DD who wakes up to nurse like 4-6 times a night)... but yeah...
I guess you are not the only one who's body is playing tricks on them at the moment...
I should go to the doctor about this... I might do if my next period is also late - just arrives whenever it feels like it...lol Though the only difference in the last few times is that it doesn't hurt so much - I have actually gone through the first few days with out really using *any* painkillers. That is a bit unusual for me - I tend to have periods on the painful side!
Ahhhh..... being a woman is sometimes tough! LOL

hmm I don't know if I should take another test in a few days then or wait it out and see if I get any symptoms.

The bleeding during pregnancy is most often due to low progesterone. I had some pretty bad bleeding with my daughter as well as clots. My current pregnancy is the only one I've had that I haven't bled and that is because I got on hormone pills by 4 weeks.

There are a number of women out there who claim that they had their period every month during their pregnancy, although it's impossible to have your period while pregnant, it's bleeding due to the pregnancy. I don't see how the consistency of bleeding during a pregnancy could be the same as an actual period. Spotting is completely different.

Yeah see with my period the one day it was more than just spotting. It was the consistency of a period, but just the one day basically.

I bled with both of mine. Just a little spotting. My doctor said it was completely normal.

I'm just really confused mainly because with my other two pregnancies I never had any bleeding whatsoever and now I have had this really odd period this month. But, supposedly i've heard that there are some women who bleed during their pregnancies.

I got negative test results and was pregnant. I'd just go get a blood test at the doctor to make sure.

Yeah me too...my second I knew before I missed my period and my first, I didn't get a positive test until I was 10 days late.

I didn't have any problems with pregnancy tests with my first two children, but bodies change and no two pregnancies are alike, so who knows what's going on.

Honestly, I get mine at the dollar store, they're just as effective. I don't know what;s going on with everyone's period. Mine is abnormal because of cysts and endometriosis. You may want to get checked for that too. And I know what you mean about false negatives. I had one with my first.

Katherine, I took a test a few days ago and it was negative. I don't like hearing lately that so many women are getting negative results, but they are indeed pregnant :S. As much as I have this on my mind, I don't want to waste money on tests either lol ahhhhhh.

Yes, it's just a change in your period. I've had some pretty weird ones. If you think you're pregnant though, go get an EPT.
