I have found something that helped my 5 month old who has chicken pox and had to post it in case any other mums got to the end of there tether like I did.

I bathed Eden in a warm not hot bath with about 1/2 a little carton of bacarbonite of soda and after about 2 hours her spots had dried up and stopped itching and she has been brillant since.

baking soda and bicarb in the uk are different things, baking soda contains cream of tartar and you ideally need bicarbonate of soda

It'd hard to try to describe because it can be used for all sorts, our grans used for cooking with,it can be used for stain removing and cleaning, even cystatis when added to a glass of water and drunk it takes the acid out of your wee so it doesnt sting. You can usually find it on the baking isle in the supermarket.

thats why i had to post it ,also calamine cream is a lot better than the lotion because once the lotion has dried it stops working and the cream doesn't dry

I'll have to write that one down. Mine haven't had the chicken pox yet either, so I know it will come in handy. Thanks for the post.
