Chiropractic Care for kids?

Kate, glad to hear the adjustments seem to have worked for your daughter and have you thought about elevating your daughter when she sleeps also. It sure has helped my grandson with coughs, ear infection, causing all the gook to drain. I think you are going to enjoy your adjustments and the relief they will bring to any aches and pains you may have. My family has benefited a lot from chiropractic adjustments. Good luck.

My daughter is 3 and gets adjusted occasionally for constipation. I watch them do it and it's almost like a little massage. She was nervous the first time, but doesn't mind it a bit now. It has helped her out quite a bit and we will continue to go whenever she is struggling. A very good friend of mine believes in totally natural healing and swears by it! He is the one that pushed us to go. Although I will continue to consult our pediatrician too, I would reccomend chiro care for various challanges! As long as you are still working with your Dr. and the chiro works with peds patients...it can't hurt. They don't adjust them like they do adults...it's very gentle!

The kiddo had her second adjustment today and will go back on Monday, Thursday, and then Friday. I'm also finally going to get an adjustment as well. My back has really been bothering me since it's been warm enough to garden. We're going to see where we stand at that point before we do anything else.
I don't know if it's just cause she's having a good day or what, but she seems to be in better spirits. She only asked me to put the ear drops in her ears once (she'll ask for them when her ear hurts) and she just seems...calmer. She thinks the adjustments tickle and it was actually kind of hard to hold on to her while the doctor was using that thing-a-ma-hoochie...the one that looks like a pogo stick. She had a bad coughing fit this morning, but I think that's just from having laid down all night and letting the gook settle. She's hardly coughed at all today and her nose hasn't been running at all. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the adjustments are helping. Thanks for all the input, ladies! :)

my aunt took her son to one in Asheville NC one of the BEST !!!!! For a year  the DR feed her a line of B and she was sure he was right ,(she as well done research ) He is in a wheeal Chair and only 8 years old due to the linnig of the spine the dr put to much pres. on him and messd his little sipine up!!!

I am not try to be mean but with in 4 years my little one had 82 ear inf. the old rem I did that finn. worked was sweet oil and antib. but hun each child is diff I have 2 and they are diff from night and day !! I just know from exp that chirapractoc treatment will lead to more prob int the long run with love michell

My daughter has never had an ear infection but I am all for chiro! I know as well the benefits it can have for illness and do believe it is definatly something you should try before surgery. I don't understand why someone would thinks it's crazy for a child to go to a chiropractor, even newborns can see them! I hope you find sucsess in, good luck!

My grandson has seasonal allergies and was on Zyrtec constantly. Since he began his adjustments he has been off the medication. Our chiropractor uses the Activation System, looks like a tiny pogo stick, for our adjustments. When his allergies or sinus problems start the chiropractor will pay special attention to the areas of his sinuses, adrenal glands etc. My grandson also has Sensory issues but has absolutely no problem with getting his adjustments. He wants to be the first one to get adjusted. We go every two weeks as a preventive measure and in between visits if need be. Between the adjustments and elevating his head he has had no ear infections in years and limited allergy problems. I cannot begin to tell you in all the areas the chiropractor has helped my family over many years medically without medication and painkillers.

Well...the old stuff ain't working. My daughter has had 4 ear infections and 2 head colds since January and it's because of her eustachian tubes not draining properly.

And out of curiousity, how will a chiropractor cause more problems with something new each time? My daughter is getting an adjustment to her spine. She's not getting poked with needles or pumped fully of antiobiotics that will screw up her tummy. The more antibiotics a person receives the more likely they are to either have an allergic reaction to it or to just become resistant to the drug entirely. 

I was skeptical about chiropracty for ear infections. I had no idea how aligning the spine would help an ear infection. But I did some research and I talked to doctors and to other mothers and I thought "This is worth a shot. I should try everything before I have to put my daughter under the stress of surgery." And yes, it's stressful. I've had several surgeries and they never get any easier to deal with. If I can fix this problem, the root of the problem, and not just throw medicine at it hoping one of them will work...well I think that's a much better solution.

My children have never had ear infections but I think that chiropractic care is extremely beneficial for children (and adults too!)

I think the chiropractor will hep with drainage. In addition you may want to give them acidophilus to replace the beneficial bacteria in the body that was wiped out by the antibiotics. Nettle tea is also helpful during allergy season. If you put a little maple syrup in it it can be very tasty.

Hello,
My son has been adjusted since he was born. He is now seven.
He has never had an ear infection or taken antibiotics. After an adjustment, his immune system improves and he gets over his ailment- colds, bronchitis, runny nose, stomach virus- much faster. We usually do 2-3 visits in extreme cases. Once in most cases. We do not go regularly meaning once a month for maintenance as my chiropractor would like. There have been times when I did not take him when ill and the ailment and seemed to drag on. Diet also plays a large role. We also fast from dairy products when he has a cold or gets congested.

The reason why she keeps getting ear infections is because her ears aren't draining properly. She has bad seasonal allergies, thanks to her dad's side of the family, and her ears don't drain. I wanted to try chiropractic treatments before we went to surgery.

I am raising my grandson who is 10 yrs old and has PDD-NOS. When he was a toddler he had ear infections constantly and always on antibiotics which he ended up being allergic too. I finally took him to a chiropractor when he was about 5 yrs old. I had been going to one for many years and he always helped me health wise. Since he has been going he has not had an ear infection and when he gets a cold, one or two a year, he is able to get through them with hardly any problems. I always have his head elevated when he sleeps so to help the ear drain if he should get a head cold. I swear by chiropractic adjustments and my grandson looks forward to going. We started going once a week but now it's been every two weeks for a few years and he is still quite healthy. It didn't take long for us to see results. My daughter was diagnosed with Fibro and Chronic Fatigue about 12 years ago and the chiropractor helped her to deal with that also through adjustments. Since my grandson has been going to the chiropractor he has been seeing his doctor for illness a LOT LESS. Last year he was healthy and had to go only for his yearly checkup. Good Luck

I swear by it. Not for just ear infections, but for general well being. My son who will be a year in 2 weeks is adjust every 6 weeks about. He has never had an ear infection and has never had more then a cold for a few days. I also do massage for a living so I am a firm believer in the benefits of it. It is so easy to get our bodies out of alighnment and that can cause so many problems for us later inlife if not corrected when it firsts happens for as children. I think you are a smarty mommy for taking her it. ITs a great thing. Keep in mind that natural treatments take longer, but are great. Also as childrent run and play they fall down adn get knock things out. So I would say at least, at the base minimum 4 times a year!!! Good luck!

I didn't use one for ear infections but I took my daughter to one when she was a newborn. She was really fussy, especially in her car seat. A few adjustments and she was great!! I was amazed! He told me that she had a couple of discs or whatever that weren't quite aligned proplerly bacause of her size and how crunched up she was in the womb.

I personally have not used chirapractic care for ear infections, however my daughter, who is 10 and epileptic/ ADHD gets adjusted fairly frequently.  I am a strong believer in it.
