How are you doing the Karo syrup? We had to use that with my oldest. At first you need to do it in each bottle. It will take a couple days before you start to see results. It has to work through his system. Then once you start seeing results continue with the Karo syrup once a day. We had to do this until our son was 1 yrs old and switched to cows milk. It was the iron in his formula.....he needs the iron, but then that would make him constipated. Make sure you are using DARK Karo syrup also....must make a difference in how it works. I believe we did 1 teaspoon each time we gave it. So at first it was 1 teaspoon each bottle then when he started to get more regular it was 1 teaspoon in 1 bottle each day to keep him regular. My doc. also suggested that we could switch to the Good Start brand of formula too. I guess that formula is easier for them to break up the iron.

It might be the formula. My daughter had the same problem, but she was only two weeks at the time. Had the hard balls and her little bottom even bled a little after going. Turned out she needed to be switched to soy formula. After that we didn't have any more problems. You should talk to her doctor about it. Hope this helps!

I would check with your doc on the honey thing. Last I had heard is that you are not suppose to give honey until they are over 1 yr. Your doc. will also be able to tell you what you can give a 2 month old for constipation.

Have you changed baby`s diet recently? When my little guy switched from breast to formula and rice cereal he suffered horribly with constipation. I tried everything right down to suppositories but in the end only Apple Juice and Dark Brown sugar worked for my little one, 1 tsp brown sugar in about 6 oz of apple juice. The first poop after the juice was not pleasant but after that the problem cleared up and it never was an issue again.

Good Luck!

I agree, if the doctor isn't doing anything to help your baby it may be time to switch. Either that or push for them to actually do something. You are your childs best advocate and sometimes you have to be pushy or stand your ground when you know there's a problem if the doctor seems to be blowing you off. There is nothing worse than watching your baby in pain on a daily basis. After my daughter turned 1 we tried milk instead of formula and that made her horribly constipated. The doctor had me use Miralax (adult dose til the stool was soft) and baby enemas on her to get her cleared out. I'm thinking 2 months may be too young to use even a small amount of Miralax but you could always ask. It works by pulling more water into the colon to make the stool softer. The doctor really needs to take this more seriously, if you can't get a handle on it now it could cause problems later on. I really hope you are able to get the poor little guy going easier. I know how hard it is to see them so uncomfortable!

He was switched to prosobee but that didn't help. The doctor just recommended Karo syrup but that didn't help either. I think I need to find a new doctor cause this one says don't worry but there is blood in his stools and he struggles daily to poop.
